Storing wine in the fridge is just fine in that it doesn’t hurt the wine. In might slow down aging a bit depending on how cold you get. I wouldn’t recommend for aging wine or keeping for more than a year or two because of the humidity issue and coke, but that’s really a concern for long term storage - over 6 months.

The point of this trick is to have the wine slam into the cork, eventually pushing it out. By doing it vertically instead of horizontally, you are fighting against gravity
Wine glasses, and other glasses, are on the right side of the plate. Hence, serving wine from the customer's right. I watched other sommelier videos and they uses a towel to wipe the top of the bottle before pouring. This guy is entertaining.

So there is no hope in preserving wine used for cooking but just to drink what's left on the bottle? Sorry I'm not a wine drinker, I'm a beer or a hard liquor guy. I do love to use wine for cooking because it does add complex flavors to certain dishes.
And that ladies and gentlemen is why drunk driving occurs. Force drinking wine to "avoid wastage," and then getting behind the driver's seat of a 1 ton vehicle and speeding home hoping to beat the effects of the alcohol. Be safe and Save it.
