10years ago such a "upcoming movies" compilation was one good movie after the next and than there was one strange one and one for kids. But nowdays it is like 30movies all shitty and yeah.... nothing you can do about it
I remember 1997 when two (count 'em) TV adaptations of "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" came out. Neither was very memorable. I suspect this series will be more of the same. I think I'll watch Disney's 1954 version again.
Reminds me a little bit of The Two Ronnies spoof The Worm That Turned, which was very good, but that was a comedy, and this is supposedly a serious drama, where limitations apply as to how far I'm willing to suspend disbelief. I personally find it too difficult to look beyond the preposterousness of the premise, though I do kind of understand why the attempt was made.
When will Hollywood take some chances and stop remaking formulaic stories with terrible writing, same editing rhythms and overdramatic symphonic music …and Beatles songs. 🙄 Hugh Grant looks cool though and Brothers is excellent. A24 rocks.
Was supposed to scare me, it just pissed me off. The son is a psycho, should have left him with Crocket. From beginning till end the image the kid gives is that of an airheaded, unfeeling selfish and cruel with zero capacity for empathy. Beware the child is the real villain. 2/10
the front room sucks, smile2 sucks🙄🙄startd dead sea but fell asleep and never finished it🤷🏻♀️willing to bet its no gud to🤦🏻♀️ is there even gonna ever b anymore gud movies? its 2024 & movies suck more than ever..wth? i cnt figure it out!!🤷🏻♀️
Same poo pooing from men as I remembered decades ago when you even mentioned reading (not watching) The Handmaid's Tale. Oh, the eye roll at such man hating ideas, the utter silliness of it all. Probably more involved, who can say until watching an episode or 2 but the bigger point of coming up with a story like this goes so very deep. Men all say "I would never be violent towards a woman" yet it doesn't explain the staggering statistics of women being predated on now does it. It's not "woke". Only weak speakers use that ridiculous word. It's real and there are no quick easy answers. Yet there must be a change in how boys are educated both at home and in schools. I might be even more riled up on this issue since it's only been 5 days since I was assaulted, on a local recreational trail during daylight hours. It's not a simple emotion. I saw this man around, even spoke when spoken to just not to be rude given I'm out to walk my dog and he drives a 4 wheeler. Stupid me, not wanting to offend despite not really wanting to stop what I'm doing to chat. Was it because I stopped and wasn't "mean"?. I mean it was a real inconvenience with a time limit to get back before dark (ahhhhh). He was so smiley, seemingly appreciative that I gave him some time. I know remember that betrayed feeling many women get after. It was because I was polite that he made some perverse assumptions that "of course I wanted it" My upbringing, I never saw a difference between talking to a guy or a woman. Found it all but impossible (living in a rural area) to be blatantly rude when I didn't want to acknowledge a man. Ya know, just minding my own business getting exercise for me and my dog in virtually the middle of nowhere. I'm okayish. If it weren't for my dog and having a good jab. But this was a man I've spoke to off and on for 3 or 4 years. I don't feel safe now, after being forced to feel extremely vulnerable on a trail in the country... And I live right next to the damn thing. Felt it was my own personal space in many ways. Anyway, clearly he thought it was okay by the confused look after. I have this in a few men as I've grown up and aged. If women talk to you, we must want "something". Now I don't live near large suburban areas so haven't done the pub crawl but seems the same idea. If you're dressed up and had a few drinks then your fair game on the streets. Channel 4 showed an excellent documentary with a woman being fake drunk and it looked like sharks circling as she "tried to find her way home". Women don't do this kind of predatory behavior so don't act shocked if the idea for a TV show comes up where men's movements a monitored or restricted. That's NOT woke. It's pointing out the insanity of what a large segment of that population is doing. Snap the eff out of it, and stop the verbal eye rolling and feel some shame about those of your gender who, in one form or another behave in a way that's unacceptable. There's no arguments to say it's okay so suck this incidental tv show up like good boys. It'll be over soon and your next drunken night out you can and will grab an ass now won't you? Offense meant and I wish I'd done more damage than a short jab.
I remember meeting Corey Feldman at a Comic-Con 20 years ago. He was super nice to everyone, very down to earth. I'll never forget that. Whatever you hear about people in the "news", meeting them in person is very different. I'd go to see this movie just remembering how well he treated others when he didn't have to.
