Im thinking about getting one of these used at my local archery shop. Im between this or a Bear Kodiak Magnum. The magnum has a higher draw weight and is a bit noisy. The Ben Pearson seems to have quieter shot and more comfortable grip
No...the mileage on the replacement cluster displayed the previous bikes mileage of 20K+ vs the replaced cluster of 14K+ but it didn't much matter as my '08 was a Salvage Title bike where recorded mileage was N/A.
Nice bow. You're right that thing has got a lot of taper with respect to the side view (the thickness from back to belly) more than I have ever seen on an ASL. Thanks
The 709 was only made in the years 1965-1966. The 1965 had brown glass on the limbs and the 66 had green. So your bow is a 66. I own the 65. Still my favorite bow after all these years.
My father just gave me this bow beacuse I showed interest in archery for a beginner is it an ok thing to practice with or should I save up for a newer wooden one
Jinks you're the only person I've ever heard say that a border Lim was not draw length sensitive I've had a covert Hunter as well as four other border limbs I sold them all because of that reason. Border limbs are the most finicky limbs on the market
mike...sorry for the late response...just noticed this and that said?...I'm not surprised that you're surprised and no...I'm not double talking you because there's quite a bit of truth in both of our expressed opinions and what I'm referring to is the Border limbs simply don't change much in hold weight so being a 1/4" long or short in your DL is pretty much inconsequential where arrow spine/tune/point weight is concerned but I found the finisky-ness you speak of was due to the lack of of pressure gained on the fingers resulting in what was a very spongy feeling backend...I eventually realized and overcame this by incorporating a less dynamic "Static Release" which cleaned the perceived finicky-ness up nicely.
Thanks for the video William. Are you still at it? I also "lost" 2 inches off my draw length upon committing to the Hill style. It's just so much fun to shoot this way.
My bike sounds like yours, i loved it at first, until I took it an hour and a half away and I couldn’t hear anything for about 12 hours. Im looking for some inserts now
