Ya Allah grant us the highest ranks of jannatul firdaus, save us from the punishment of the grave, keep us away from hell fire, expand our graves as far as the eye can see and illuminate it with light and give us glad tidings from jannah. Give us a good death and forgive us for all of our sins we committed in public and private, major and minor and turn them into good deeds. Let us die with the shahada, let us die with la ilaha illa Allah, let us die in sujood, let us die in a state of ibadah and resurrect us in the same state, take our souls when you are pleased with it, give the book of deeds in our right hand, grant us righteous spouses and guide us to what pleases you and keep us away of that which is displeasing to you, Ameen.

1. Talking excessively is annoying and within it you’ll say dumb things and other factors will arise against yourself. It’ll expose your weakness. 2. Laughing too much is goofy, no one will take you seriously. 3. Eating too much will ruin your health, create obesity and minimize patience. If you notice how people drive aggressive after work it’s due to hunger. But towards work it’s easy driving after breakfast. Fasting creates patience, if you can control your hunger you’ll be more patient. 4. Excessive sleep will only make you more tired during the day. 8 hours is enough !
The soul is the Rūh. Nafs is the souls and inner desires and temptations of oneself which donates the negative desires bot positive desires like wanting to memorise Qur'an for the sake of becoming a better Muslim and seeking the rewards of Allah.
I would say this is only a part of what it means to have faith. Faith isn't just an intellectual thing you tell yourself in your mind but rather something you show through the way you live. Anyone can say they have faith but not everyone can show it through their life

Juwairiyah (radhi Allaahu anha) reported that one day the Prophet, peace be upon him, left her apartment in the morning as she was busy observing her dawn prayer in her place of worship. He came back in the forenoon and she was still sitting there. The Prophet, peace be upon him, said to her, “You have been in the same place since I left you?” She said, “Yes.” Thereupon the Prophet, peace be upon him, said, “I recited four words three times after I left you and if these were to be weighed against what you have recited since morning these would outweigh them, and these words are: سُبْحـانَ اللهِ وَبِحَمْـدِهِ عَدَدَ خَلْـقِه ، وَرِضـا نَفْسِـه ، وَزِنَـةَ عَـرْشِـه ، وَمِـدادَ كَلِمـاتِـه Subhaanallaahi wa bihamdihi: ‘Adada khalqihi wa ridhaa nafsihi, wa zinata ‘arshihi wa midaada kalimaatihi. Glory is to Allaah and praise is to Him, by the multitude of his creation, by His Pleasure, by the weight of His Throne, and by the extent of His Words (Recite 3 times in Arabic) Muslim 4/2090
“Whoever asks Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala) Paradise three times, Paradise says: ‘O Allah, admit him into Paradise’, and whoever seeks refuge from the Fire three times, the Fire says: ‘O Allah, save him from the Fire.'” - [Al-Tirmidhi Hadith 2572] اللّهُـمَّ إِنِّـي أَسْأَلُـكَ الجَـنَّةَ وأَعوذُ بِـكَ مِـنَ الـنّار Allahumma ‘inni ‘as’alukkal Jannatha wa ‘au'zu bikka minannaar O Allah, I ask You to grant me Paradise and I take refuge in You from the Fire.
Dua for Protection from Jahannam (Hellfire) رَبَّنَا اصْرِفْ عَنَّا عَذَابَ جَهَنَّمَ إِنَّ عَذَابَهَا كَانَ غَرَامًا انهَا سَاءَتْ مُسْتَقَرًّا وَ مُقَامًا Rabbanaa Aswrif Annaa a'zaaba jahannam. Inna A'zaabaha kaana gharaamaa innahaa saa-ath musthakkarra-wwamuqaama... Our Lord, avert from us the punishment of Hell. Indeed, its punishment is ever adhering. Indeed, it is evil as a settlement and residence. (Surah Al-Furqan 25th Surah : Verse 65)
DUA BEFORE GOING TO SLEEP بِاسْمِكَ رَبِّي وَضَعْتُ جَنْبِي، وَبِكَ أَرْفَعُهُ، إِنْ أَمْسَكْتَ نَفْسِي فَاغْفِرْ لَهَا، فَارْحَمْهَا، وَإِنْ أَرْسَلْتَهَا فَاحْفَظْهَا ، بِمَا تَحْفَظُ بِهِ عِبَادَكَ الصَّالِحِينَ "Bismika Rabbi wada'tu janbî, wa bika arfa'uhu, in amsakta nafsî faghfirlahaa farhamhaa, wa in arsaltaha fahfazha bima tahfazu bihi 'ibadakas-sâlihîn." O my Lord! In Your Name I put my side over this bed and with Your Name I will lift it up therefrom. If You take my soul, forgive it, bestow mercy on it, and if You release it, protect it as You protect Your righteous slaves.
Dua for goodness in this life and after life... رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ Transliteration Rabbana Aatina Fid-Dunya 'Hasanatanw-wa Fil Aakhirati Hasanatanw-wa-Qina 'Azaaban-Naar Translation "Our Lord! Give us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and defend us from the torment of the Fire!"
