They mentioned all women who played the Wicked Witch in this production except Lilane Montevecchi. Maybe it was because she was the only one who didn't get to play the role at Madison Square Garden or because she wasn't as big of a celebrity as Rosanne Barr, Eartha Kitt, and Joanne Worley.
Years ago, when I was probably about 9 or 10, my mom and sister and I saw Eartha Kitt in a production of Cinderella where she played the Fairy Godmother. She was a true talent for sure.
One of the most lovely versions of the sound of music I’ve seen so far. Incredible casting and staging! Thank you for sharing! What a great aspiration to look up to!

It's nice that somebody put something up like this but I got to say when they recorded this they cut out all the good parts and kept in the boring ones. Like The Witch melting The Witch's entrance into munchkinland a tornado all cut that's the interesting stuff LOL

why does the Wicked Witch of the West need the ruby slippers , what are jitterbugs and what are they used for , what does the Wizard want with Witch's broomstick and why do the Munchkins , Winkies and Flying Monkeys celebrate when both the Wicked Witches of the East and West are dead
To answer your queries. For starters, the Wicked Witch wants the ruby slippers to increase her magic powers in order for her to overthrow the Wizard. And also a memorabilia of her late sister: The Wicked Witch of the East. The Jitterbug is actually a number that was written for the original movie, but was cut during production. But it has been put back into the story via the musical. You realize that in the movie, after Dorothy and friends meet the Wizard there are no more songs. The bug itself is actually supposed to be a sort of mosquito that makes you dance into exhaustion once it bites you. The Witch used it incapacitate the main characters (Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tin Man and Lion) so that her Flying Monkeys can easily capture Dorothy without much struggle. Why did the Wizard want the Witch's broom? It was just an excuse for him to keep up the illusion that he is an all-powerful Wizard, and stay hidden from the rest of Oz that thinks he's a hero, when he's a liar. As for that last one... You're seriously asking that question? They're Wicked Witches. It's in their titles. Enslaving the Munchkins, Winkies and Monkeys, while clutching Munchkinland and Winkie Country with an iron fist.
