Just curious if i make stage 1 for enginee and stage 2 for gerbox from your company file end my rs5 b9 run on stock premium petrol this didn’t destroy my catalic in 10-20 k miles or it’s didn’t affect to much ?

I’d say if you’re in a 50k+ mile/100k+ km car, replacing all the injectors to make them new is not a bad idea, but I personally will not go full E85, without the HPFP upgrade.

Do you need the 034 tune to use this clutch upgrade? I’m currently tuned by IE. (but i got lots of 034 parts on too ❤) I went with IE because they had an E85 tune available for the CREC and you guys did not at the time 6 months ago

What would be the advantage of upping the viscosity of the oil in these engines? Manufacturers spend hundreds of millions to billions of dollars to develop engines and determine what oils should be used in them. Modern engines are designed and manufactured using computer technology and they have much tighter tolerances than before (usually within hundredths of a millimeter). So when a manufacturer designs an engine to use a thinner oil, it is doing so to ensure that the oil can flow through these tight spaces inside the engine at the correct rate. If you take an engine designed for 0W-20 and put a thick oil in it, I would think that the thicker oil would not be able to flow through these tight spaces as quickly and would begin to dam up around the areas needing lubrication. Since oil is needed as much for cooling the engine as for lubricating it (since it is the only fluid that is physically touching many parts inside the engine), I can't see how this would be a good thing; but what do I know? I am not saying anyone is wrong to use a thicker oil, I just need somebody to explain why increasing the oil viscosity is a good idea.

In our experience with these engines, increasing the oil's viscosity to 5w-40 has no negative effects. In general, manufacturers have been beginning to use thinner oils for better fuel economy, as they ultimately create less resistance. The downside is that these thinner oils tend to heat up much quicker, especially with a tuned engine generating more power. By upping the viscosity, especially in an engine making, in some cases, double the factory output, a thicker oil will allow it to be more resistant to these higher oil temperatures.

I am a little confused on AMAX. I have read that AMAX increases wear on your clutches, and that there is a limited # of launches you can do. I do not know how true either one of those statements are, but if that is the case, could you provide some clarity as why AMAX is preferred where more wear and tear is being applied over a smoother DSG like shift that would cause a minuscule difference to a 0-60 or 1/4 mile while causing virtually no harm? I understand AMAX is the FASTEST possible way to accelerate, but isn't longevity the goal (again, if increased wear is actually present). Lastly, it would be cool to see a TCU option to turn AMAX on/off based on preferences of shift sounds/feel. I would rather compromise a 0.1 sec diff to my 0-60 to have a BAAAP sounding shift, and a buttery one at that instead of a lunge. I am very new to the B9 platform, so I am only questioning as I am lacking knowledge. Thank you guys! Also, how come APRs TCU tune makes the launch control sound like the 2018 S3, but y'alls doesn't bounce off of the limiter? (Considering switching to you guys btw)

AMAX, or "Acceleration Maximum," is a launch control shift strategy implemented in the factory calibration only during launch control. We improve upon that implementation to give the drivers the best acceleration times possible, even if that means shaving a 1/8th of a second off your quarter mile times. We have not found this to impact the transmission's overall reliability/longevity, as all factory safeties are retained with our calibrations. We've done hundreds, if not thousands, of combined launches without issue. The AL552 ZF8 has proven to be stout whilst running our tuning at Stage 3 power levels. We do not have experience with the APR TCU tune so cannot comment. Our tune is optimized to offer the quickest and fastest acceleration while possible

It’s the main reason why I went with your stage 2 ECU / TCU tune fit my S3 8V I ran over 40,000 miles absolutely flawless on that tune , I would say, not only is the power way up, over stock but the refinement is as well drivability . I was mostly impressed with your stage two over your stage one because of how much the mid range torque swell is Pronounced . So much fun as a daily driver.

wanted to ask a question about the B9 S4 and you have always been helpful, it's separate to the video however what would your recommendation be regarding a high coolant temp warning, only had it once fans come on full but only for a short while or every so often, my question as it seems like a common issue online and some people have fixed it by replacing the 037906283c solenoid, is this a common issue with the solenoid going funny? or is the solenoid going funny due to a tiny leak a sign to start replacing the waterpump and thermostat? does this happen a lot on the B9 S4? separately looking forward to the Kli-Max TCU tune for the B9 saw the sneak preview

what do you mean? there was a wave of 3.0Ts blowing up a few summers ago but it was mostly tracking to IE / cylinder 6 right? every brand has a few haters. I myself am an hater of AWE and will swear their stuff is crap.

@@shieric123 Yeah I heard about the IE issue but I thought that was EA888 engines to be honest. But this guy on Facebook, who himself offers a boutique tuning service, is claiming to see dozens of blown motors come through his shop all with 034 tunes. Just curious why he would make those accusations and if there is any truth to it. Good point about haters though, human nature is what it is. Did you have a bad experience with AWE then?

@@akismurton496 034 doesn't tune the EA888 gen3 so that can't be 034? If the person making the complaints is a tuner, that makes me trust it even less as they would benefit from slandering 034 since they are direct competitors. bottom line is if anyone can release any conclusive evidence of a failure due to 034 tuning, it would likely draw a lot of attention but it doesn't exist, or else it would be out there. you can't link anything besides speculation here which speaks to that point. Yes, I've had very bad experiences with AWE on both their exhausts and recently an intake. they do not stand by their products at all. they just go mass market and focus more on marketing than engineering and quality.

Well as a large language model, wouldn’t AI be great at reading logging data and analyzing it? You could have it learn from thousands of logs and variables and teach it what to look for I would presume.

It's a great supporting modification regardless. It helps keep the subframe entered to prevent alignment issues, and improves chassis rigidity for improved handling performance.

I have b9 s5 sportback 2018 I am looking to get 034 stage 1 at 91 the only reason i haven't yet is because i want to know if it will have crackles or bangs at stock exhausts for 2018 s5 sportback. or do i have to change that

I think if there weren't so many upgrades for the manual I would have gotten a DSG in my MK8, but a heavyweight shift knob and Holy Shift/Sigma 6 kit goes so far in these cars. Also, I'm not bullish that the later TCUs (basically all NA MK8s) will ever be unlocked.

i changed my OEM clutch three times, it could not handle the power and keep slipping, sometimes you feel power sometimes you don't, and i ordered two days ago and can't wait to get it here in U.A.E, i stopped the car in the garage and just waiting for this part, and i even have the crank pulley will install it too, and yeah i have 84mm throttle, but first need to get this part 😂❤ can't wait to weeks to be shipped 😢

I would never launch my car. Why abuse it? I enjoy driving my S5 aggressively at times however launching for is not going to happen. With this car anyway. Kind of wished id launched my tuned TTRS when I had it.😂

Why do your mk8 golf r springs lower the rear more than the front? Is this for aesthetic reasons or does it benefit handling in some way? My understanding was that lowering the rear more than the front would increase understeer, is this offset by your larger increase in rear spring rates relative to the front springs?

The lowering our springs provide remove the rake found in the vehicle to make it sit flat and level. Along with our bespoke spring rate changes, this leads to a flat and balanced handling dynamic.

Can I run stock downpipes with crackle tune stage 1? My exhaust set up would be awe touring exhaust, magna flow x pipe with test pipes. Would there be any issues with that?

Crackle overrun on the stock catalysts will cause premature failure especially on vehicles equipped with the 3.0T supercharged motor. Our software requires test pipes (for sanctioned racing use only) to enable crackle overrun.
