Hey BNSF1238, idk if you remember your old channel (sawman3333) from 12-13 years ago and how you would make these homemade fire alarms based off real ones, if you have them, can you show them on camera on this channel here, i think it would be really cool to see them again after about 10 years.
Times have changed and new methods for reskinning are needed. No longer do we use the bump map to reskin, we create blanks using the painted texture pallet using some fancy techniques to remove logos, etc. There may be some videos out there like flamerailz or something, I have not yet touched on this subject on my channel.
I am wanting to animate a pair of Griswold EM Gate Pedestal Mount Crossing Signals With wishbone Gate Arms for Trainz A New Era so the lights on the crossing signals flash back and forth the 2nd and 3rd gate arm flash back and forth on the wishbone gate arms while the 1st light stays on constantly and the wishbone gate arms go up and down with the signal system when programmed. There's a variety of modeling programs to look at. I'd start there first. Blender is free and has many tutorials. Also check out 3DS max. While not free you can find subscriptions for reduced prices for freelance work. After you find your program, start looking up tutorials on how to use it.
