Why was this machinery allowed to be sold to a foreign country? Are we that far gone that there are no people willing to start a company like this here in the USA?

Up until the late 1980's Kelsey Hayes in Philadelphia made sheet metal for new and old cars. My buddy worked there and told me a place in California would order 50 1957 Chevy hoods & fenders every year. Glad to see parts not made in lying cheating lack of quality control nogoodnic communist china. Wonder how long it takes to make some of the molds for stamping metal. While doing electrical work in injection molding shops saw same guy spend two weeks to make a die for one of thier 500 ton injection molding machines.

Amazing! But it's just too expensive to make a new tool: 300k per tool per part. This industry must have a more cost effective way to make bend sheet metal parts?

I would like to know the complete parts cost for the conversion, frame kit, bed kit complete, drive shaft, just get an idea for when I do mine?

So, is it still the case you have to machine the flange down for the rear to fit? Would like a single front/rear kit that will mount up without mods.

And here we have the reason we can never allow the greedy Chinese take over Taiwan... or Ukraine.

I love that one of the first speakers pointed to GM tooling, likely bought as salvage and to be put back into service for limited production runs, meanwhile in the USA, wall street types are selling off everything.....

I use to work GM Canada in fleet end of the market and the parts that were made in Taiwan were better and were closer to the factory minimum tolerances than the ones being built here in North America and less cost, all the new parts they stamp for classic cars are made from better quality steel than OEM were and to ba able to buy a complete new Mustang body and ship overseas here wow, the coolest thing in the video was the 21 window VW Van, freaking in credible,I'll have to check i have a project I am about to start, great video

Thanks To our former politicians creating the NAFTA program, we gave all of our manufacturing jobs away to these foreign countries. Thanks to Bill Clinton and Bob Dole along with several other politicians, we no longer make these products here in our own country. Who needed those jobs anyway, right? At least those politicians made out real well. They walked away with millions in their pockets. Gotta love those politicians!

Great video. I enjoyed the tour of the factories and to see how the reproduction panels are made. It's great that they can get the OEM stamps and molds. The Taiwanese workers are craftsmen and do a good job.

This is cool but it is a shame that all this American tooling went to Taiwan. Stuff like this should be produced in the USA nothing against the Taiwanese people. Just goes to show you that we are losing a lot of tooling to overseas companies slowly picking apart the USA ..
