Art has been my passion for years, but I am so scared of mistakes I haven't drawn in months, this has been going on for quite a while. I'm definitely going to try this, not just to improve but to bring my passion back, thank you! ❤
color and light by James Gurney is an awesome reference for learning color as well, Not just the theory, but how's and why's of how we can perceive color and paint it accurately, or I should say, artistically
I’ve watched this video a month ago or so and since then I’ve tried to avoid using the eyedropper tool when coloring. At first, I struggled to get the right colors getting it darker, lighter or even the wrong color overall. But now, When I see a color from a reference, I can more or less find it in the color wheel and correctly apply it! You don’t know how much this video helped me in my art journey so thank you! 🎉
glad it did, that's awesome!! and wow... the fact you even came back to leave a comment really made my day ❤ you're the best good luck with your journey, hope i can help some more in the future :3
İ were not listening just warching w subtitles, when i turn my sound on İ SHOCKED by ur voice i thought ur voice would be like a teen voice i didnt expect a deep voice 😵💫
The problem is.... Wheen you try it daily, there are times you're sht the day after you made a masterpieece (IMO) and the motivation just dies instantly for me... But I should learn that I shouldn't compare myself from a day or so or even moths... BUT IT IS HARDDDD
and to add to that last point... THE BEST THING IN ART IS THERE'S NO TIME LIMIT, it's never to late to lear to draw... Unlike sports there's no PEAK AGE to do art
totally agree, and it happens to me very often as well 😟 the third tip is probably the answer to this tho! if you think long term, a bad day or even a bad couple months become a part of the journey instead of a roadblock keep practicing and you're guaranteed to improve ✨
thank you I finally understood why I hate practicing perspective TvT I always put the two points on the canvas so it looks super weird and I hate it :c guess I'll have to try to do perspective again ._.
thats awesome :D ✨ and yeah... prespective is the most underrated art fundamental for sure there's so many cool things to find out about :0 didnt even cover half of em tbh but theres just soooo much glad u liked the vid!
eyy thats great, also tysm 😊❤ maybe to avoid focusing on the details, try working towards them gradually -> big shapes, then medium, then small for last! (keeping the size of your brush big and chunky also helps lol)
This video was really helpful!! I’m a game art student and therefore do a lot of artistic things basically “for work” that aren’t necessarily drawing or painting. so I struggle a lot with motivation for private project and especially getting better at digital art in my free time, so this video and also your other videos helped a lot. The thing i struggle most with tho is seeing the process i have to go through to actually understand something (for example the color thing you talked about in your “how to paint video”), and being so intimidated by the amount of time i have to invest that i struggle to actually start. And ik it’s not gonna help to procrastinate bc…that’s not gonna make it go faster lol. But yeah this helped a lot to get a different perspective on motivation. Your perfectionism video also helped a lot!! So thank you for making these videos, I really enjoy listening to you and watching your drawing while learning something :)
you can not even begin to imagine how happy i am after reading this ❤ thank you so so so much also, i understand what you're struggling with... sadly there isn't an easy fix other than slowly understanding that everything worth doing is hard, and usually takes a lot of time when that sinks in tho u become pretty much invincible i believe in u, best of luck with your studies 😤🔥
