Wow I went overboard there for a few..I just wanted to thank you for doing such a great job..I really appreciate it..1918 or 2023 we still act the same exact way..
I heard a beautiful version of this song when the credit rolled for a film with Rip Torn (he played a country singer). The film was from 1974 or 75. Does anybody know who sang that version?
I love this song so much. I would sing it in church when I was a little girl. My father took my sister's and I to other churches and nursing homes to sing for them, this song was always one of them because we'd harmonize. Well, my eldest sister and I would. Lol. Since I was in Kindergarten, I've always wanted to hear a heavy metal version of this song. True story. Sometimes I feel as if I can't be the only one to have stolen an older siblings metal band t-shirt, Metallica (in my case) for Kindergarten picture day, I was grinning a big cheesy smug ass grin because I got away with it but not for long, my parents were a bit mad though. I still have that silly smug photo. Anyways, I hear the male metal version in my head so I can't make it myself, very heavy but melodic. Also, I love the video you chose of Charlie Chaplin. I love his first ever speaking role, it was (and still is) the best speech ever written for film, imo.
Such great fun to see this video with this song! My mother sang me this song many times and it breaks my heart to heart to hear it now. I think it was her theme song and I remember her singing it when things were not sunny at all.
HT Ellis Marschand you can usually adjust it from a knob on top. If not, there's a thing inside you can use. I'm sure you can find a tutorial video on how
The setting on top, even when set to slowest, has only ameliorated it somewhat. I took the thing apart once to figure out why it purrs so loudly. Another enthusiast said the governor will eventually snap with all the clunks and noises it makes (not caught in this video), but repairing it would take quite a bit of skill and possibly some new parts. Unfortunately for me, I have not yet found another person with this model, and there's little information about it overall. I decided to just enjoy it as it is until the sad day comes that it busts. It brings me a lot of joy, even if it runs a bit fast.
HT Ellis Marschand you should be able to fix it without seeing a similar one. Any cheap portable, silvertone, Brunswick, Sonora, etc should be good enough comparison. You really should try and fix it before it snaps.
Thanks for the advice. I was under the impression it was too risky to mess with at this point, but I'd be willing to give it a try after some research.
Nice Chaplin videos man! You put two of my favorite things together haha. Chaplin and Coldplay. I have a lot of favorite things, but still. There used to be a Chaplin video on here with the killers. It was awesome, but it's not on here anymore, so thanks for these alternatives
