To me, Murray Nicoll was the voice of the Ash Wednesday fires. I was a teenager living at Henley and I vividly remember watching the fire lines across the Adelaide Hills face at night and the smoke everywhere. I later joined the CFS and heard some of the storied of those who'd been at the fires. Terrifying. I'm really glad this piece of radio history has been preserved.
this ad stuck with me becasue it was a tourism ad that showed the audience everything you're not supposed to see, it showed brutality, danger, mystery and thats what made it stand out. Great work to the people that made the ad, I hope it worked
