I’m from Thailand and got told from my parents, when they weren’t having kids at the time they were chilling and watching the hit soap operas TV together around 9-10 p.m. They were enjoying their TV and also feel tired from their day then there’s a serious breaking news interrupting the soap said from New York, United States, showing the live burning buildings and a few minutes later there’s a plane appears crashing into the tower, people screaming, begging they said they were shocked and people in Thailand just witnessed the historic reality-bending shape-shifting event altogether just from watching the national favorite hit TV show on regular Tuesday night.

I am from germany and was 8 years old. Noisy with my brother in my moms car when we heard the news on the radio. This evening we weren't allowed to watch kids TV and we wondered why. It's so unfair what happened that day. I hope there is an afterlife and every victim (except the murderes) enjoy heaven. We will never forget this day and we should never forget events like this. Things that happen in war nowadays and happened in world war 1 and 2. Too many people had to suffer. We just have this planet earth so do everything you can to get peace...

I was 9 years old in Oregon. I delivered newspapers then, and I remember seeing the towers in smoke on the front page. I learned later what it meant, that America was attacked by terrorists. My most vivid memory was of a memorial program on the radio called "Meet Me In The Stairwell," in which the narrator plays the voice of God saying He was with the people in the towers as they made their final phone calls to their loved ones, standing by them and ready to receive them as they breathed their last. It had Mannheim Steamroller's version of Silent Night in the background, which gave a chilling yet oddly comforting tone to the whole story. I cried nearly every time I heard it in the car.

Good day from an earlier generation. In a wider sense, some things did not change that much. TVs and computers became flat screens but the basic structure of TV networks still maintained. Similar with the road and rail network. Ways of dressing hardly changed. Another point was that over since around the 1990s, people did a better job in making themselves looked young. As of 2021, some people who appeared on camera back in 2001 looked as if they aged only about 10 years.

Watch all the (real) documentaries. It’s on many of them and there is a whole doc all about Gaudets and their morning there (and how they were trying to document firemen and their jobs). People making stupid remarks as elsewhere here that no “unedited” film shows planes should be horse-whipped. I’m sick of those conspiratorial people.

and also i find that the people on the bottom floor were most likely blessed they work there, anyone above or near wouldve had massive injuries and/or ruptured eardrums, and there’s a story of a person who worked in the twin towers who was a few hours late due to severe traffic, heard the event and just turned right around and went home. he was probably relieved.

When this happened, it was around 3pm in Spain (our lunchtime). Most Spaniards have lunch while watching the news, and everyone saw together how the second plane hit the second tower. It was so surreal that my aunt thought "Damn, these Americans really know how to make movies". When she heard the reporter (who was live at the scene) SCREAM "RUN! RUN! RUN!", drop the camera and the TV presenter telling the reporter to "be careful", she stayed shocked on the couch until they explained what was going on and confirmed that it was a terrorist attack. My parents also remember exactly where they were, what they were eating, the clothes they were wearing and what they thought and felt at the moment. 9/11 didn't just change the US, it changed the whole world and from Barcelona, I pray for all the lives lost and for all those families that had to grieve them. God bless them. Unfortunately, it was our turn on March 11th, 2004, when Al-Qaeda put several bombs at the main train hours in Madrid, killing hundreds of people and shattering all of the Spanish hearts. Also, remember August 17th, 2017, when Al-Qaeda killed dozens of people in my beautiful city, Barcelona. I will always remember that day and I will never ever forgive what they did to my people.

I’m from Iraq, I was 6-7 years old so I don’t remember much, but I do remember how my dad was shocked watching the twin towers on tv, and how he told my mom “this will change the world, it will never be the same” and it really changed the world and our family’s world because 2 years later USA came to Iraq and a year or so later my mom joined the US Army because since she was younger she was obsessed with everything related to USA, like movies, music, etc so her American English was perfect and the US Army needed some help from people who spoke both languages so she applied and when they left around 2009 we had to leave with them because my family was in danger, some people hated those who worked with the US Army, I remember us being followed by some men with guns (probably saddam hussien’s followers, because many people loved him and hated how the US Army took him out) at night whenever my mom came home from work we all went together to bring her home (my, my dad, and younger brother) now im not sure if the USA was going to Iraq anyways because of WMD because it wasn’t necessary for 9/11 since Iraq didn’t have anything to do with it and none of the hijakers was from iraq, but I just know that I’m a proud Iraqi-American, me and my brother both finished college. Watching these videos make me feel like I was here when it happened so thank you for sharing this, RIP to all the victims

Good day, OBL's known intention was to provoke US into a fierce retaliation, which regrettably, he got his intention, although he did not live to really see the long-term consequences of neo-con blunders. At the same time, even if OBL lived to see 2021, he would not be too happy. Shia Iran became an unintended beneficiary of neo-con blunders, something which OBL ideologically would find it hard to accept. It sounded strange but as years passed, more white Westerners wished the Saddam and Gadaffi regimes were still in charge. 🙄🙄 Bashar possibly gained popularity in the West in a way that his dad could never have imagined.

I remember that the news that summer was so slow that they were following various "missing pretty white girl" cases because they had nothing else to talk about. The instant 9/11 happened they dropped all coverage of those cases, showing that the whole thing was a cynical attempt to keep people interested. Since then, there hasn't been a problem with slow news, it's just been one disaster or fiasco after another. It really shows that the '90's (like the '50's before it) was a fluke in the history of the world. Just like after WWII, the post Cold War era had a decade or so of false peace where people thought they'd solved all the ills of the world. In both cases they were wrong.

I was 9 by that day, I'm Venezuelan, mom wakes me up with a telephone, a call from a cousin telling me that he's a father, his daughter was born, after that call, the tv is on and mom says "some planes crashed on the twin towers", and I asked: what towers? She said: two towers that appear in movies, in new york, little I knew that day how much things would change after that day
