Hey, it's Jon and Elise! We are both backpackers at heart with a love for slow travel and adventure! During COVID times we made a brave decision to cancel our wedding preparations and focus on what makes us truly happy, travel of course!
We will take you along with us at a relaxed pace, see things from our honest perspective and enjoy the beautiful sights from your own home!

The hotel where we stayed was amazing. We would 100% recommend it. The staff were amazing so so friendly and were always happy to help. Breakfast was really nice and a good way to start the day. we would really recommend having a meal in the evening as well as the food was amazing. We will definitely go back to this hotel 👍

This popped up as a suggestion as I've recently been researching the Horseshoe route but coincidentally I did Pen Y Fan on Good Friday last year, probably got there at 10 and somehow got a space! It was insanely busy.

As we were doing our research in to where to go on our trip, Slovenia just looked so amazing. The main draw was how beautiful it looked with the lake in bled the castles and those mountains really made us want to go and it didn’t disappoint, we would highly recommend. We plan to go back and see a lot more of Slovenia.
@TravelwithJonandElise It was a great video, its always great to see the lesser popular areas! Excited to see any up and coming travel videos! Thankyou :)
Nice Vid, i remember PYV since i was a boy i grew up in the valleys and went up first time when i was 8. I moved to Bristol and joined the Marine Commandos and low and behold on a Sennybridge ETR shooting exercise we somehow found ourselves on a four ton truck parked up at Storey Arms with the cry....get your kit on, plenty of water....off we went! 35mins later with about 70lbs of kit and a wet combat smock we hit the TP. So many memories with those fabulous views. So worth the climb. In my seventies now i still brave it. I took my motorcycle kit up last time i had no top box!!! BIG mistake! But still made it! Fabulous Mountain, Fabulous Country! Proud to be Welsh and from that area. Great Vid thanks for sharing you made me reminisce! Great Memories...and on to those Waterfalls!
i live in bristol, so its about 1.5 hours to get there. i have just hiked half of the malvern hilll yesterday and done cheddar gorge. I think this will be my next bigger hike/day out. looks lovely
Hopefully you pick a nice day to go. Pen Y Fan is not very difficult to walk up and won’t take very long either. The views from the top are spectacular on a nice clear day. Just bear in mind to arrive early as it will get busy as the day goes on especially on nice days during the summer. We hope you have a nice walk up and enjoy the views from the top 👍
Brilliant video , please don’t take it the wrong way but you guys are NORMAL and tell it how it is. This is a true and honest appraisal of the walk up the mountain. Thank you for posting this , much better than any other videos about pen y fan mountain , keep up the good work guys 👍🏼😃
Thank you so much. That’s exactly what we want to be “Normal” we want to be open and honest and tell people how it is. So glad you enjoyed the video and thank you so much for your comment.
Thank You For Came to Sri Lanka and Thank You Spend Your Money in Sri Lankan Economy. I think Hope Enjoy to Your Tour in Sri Lanka. Please Don't Foget come again Sri Lanka
Its always busy on the weekend and bank holidays but there are other routes you can take that are far less busy and much more enjoyable than the route you took. From the Storey Arms a few hundred meters up the road from the main car park is my favourite way up there.
I know it crazy up there even more so on weekend’s and bank holidays. Been going up Pen Y Fan since I was a kid as it is right on my doorstep and walked up there when it was just a sheep track, now it’s almost a tarmac track due to the amount of people going up there. My favourite walk was from the Neuadd the other side as this was the quietest walk. However, due to the new car park and the charges more people are going that route as well now. Anyway, i am glad you enjoy it that’s what walking is about. As long as you enjoy it that’s the main thing. It’s just Pen Y Fan is no longer enjoyable for us.
There are other (more enjoyable) ways up that are far less busy. Park at the Storey Arms a few hundred meters up the road and there is a way up from there that is usually pretty quiet.
We had a great time visiting the Nine Arch Bridge here in Ella. However, we want to know which view you preferred. Up at Asanka Cafe or down on the bridge? Let us get involved and let’s us know
