The last run looked ferocious. Carried the front end and slammin' gear changes rocked the car. The Berg's black '67 was an absolute beast back in the 80's and early 90's. Gear changes were so violent they shook the car, just awesome. Gene said when heating the slicks in the water box it was in 2nd gear turning 9,500~10,500rpm. Thanks for posting the video guys. BTW, I bought some parts from CIP years ago. As well, my friend and I went to a show n swap meet put on by CIP in '86. After the show we went to Expo '86, the World's Fair, then back to the Seattle area where we still reside now. What ever happened to Lanny Hussey/ Split {window?} Restorations? His '67 was choice, featured twice in Hot VW's magazine. He had an ad in the back of the magazine for sale asking $40k. I preferred the first rendition, Lotus white. Just reminiscing....thanks again.
purchased a 1971 volkswagen camper about 2 months ago and have ordered 90% of my parts from Cip1 in Surrey BC (Canada location). Very thankful to have a location in Canada, theres been nearly everything i need, and everything comes very quickly! :)
Is the video quality better in the "FOR SALE" versions" of the DVD series? The videos not inexpensive thus I would hope the video is considerably more legible then the clips posted here. I like understand the technology has not changed much on the Greenville prices of these very old engines but it would be nice to have modern visual aids updated on the videos. Somehow watching a video with early 80s clothing seems to lessen the quality of the video I know that that is strictly a perception and it is well known that this series is One of the best sources for the subject covered in the videos.
