Looks pretty similar to Aidan Ritchie's contra. He said the bore on his is .555, so maybe yours is the same? So long as the slides are similar. I play one of Voight's lower end models but kind of wish the bore was smaller
I love your sound. I just got a G Contra made by Minick for my trombone choir, it came with a Minick L mouthpiece but I'm not liking it. What mouthpiece are you using?
Have an Etude that you want to play, listen to different recordings of the Etude, practice it until you feel it’s performance ready! It’s okay to take multiple recordings, but don’t only record an Etude for the whole practice session (it took me a few days to record some of my etudes because I have other goals to accomplish in my practice sessions). Hope this helps!
This approach to teaching lip trills is weak pedagogy because it fails to explain how the pitch change is being made and then attributes the student's eventual lack of result to not enough practice. It's like telling someone they can learn to hover ten feet off the ground... just practice hovering one foot off the ground and work your way up!
