While the streams and waterfalls look so pristine, one dead goat or pig upstream and even a little in your mouth can cause extreme symptoms. Several people became sick a few weeks ago, a few airlifted and kalalau closed for a few weeks. DON'T DRINK THE WATER!!!
#1. You do not go "into town" to get a rental car. There are some other non-airport rentals in an industrial area, but in 2024, they are not really that low cost. Most used to walk to the car rentals or take the rental bus that takes you right next to the airport. This video is 5 years old. It is no longer cheaper to rent outside and customer service can be worse or overbooked, but inside the new airport car rental area, lines can be super long for instance for Budget/Dollar/Thrifty. One hack is a company that will leave a car in sort term parking and you can use a lock box on the car to get in ... Manaloha Car Rental does this. I used it once ... NO LINE! EASY! In 2024 you walk or take the short old time looking sugar train to the new massive car rental facility. Town is pronounced KA- HU-LUI. Road to HANA is pronounced HAH-NAH.
What season did you go to iceland? I am travelling to Iceland in September, and im not sure if i should stay in hostels or a simple car is also alright?
I’m glad you’re happy there. I spent 20 years in Kelowna and I’m glad I got out. I visit Kelowna only for Costco shopping and quick family visits and then I’m very happy to get out again. You moved from Vancouver so yes Kelowna is better than the hectic coast. Personally I am very uncomfortable anywhere near the downtown core of Kelowna when I visit because of the massive homeless issue. Very uncomfortable to spend time downtown during the day and especially after the sun goes down
The kayak tours in Kerala's backwaters sound like the perfect way to explore! Did you have any memorable encounters while paddling through the canals? Your travel tips are so helpful!

All these tourist dhows about the island are about everything south of hwy 4.which thankfully keeps tourist from ruining the north and Central island where i live❤
The title of this video is a lie and almost everything out of this man's mouth is a lie. Kelowna's resteraunts include a bbq place that microwaves their meat, bars full of coke dealers and meth heads, and lanlords that are all running a criminal enterprise charging people real city prices for a town with no doctors, nurses, up to date schools, or any real infrastruture that makes this a viable place to call home. I've lived in many cities across this great countrey, cities where I was welcomed with open arms as a newcommer, and Kelowna has been the only place in Canada that has treated me lile a pariah. Im here for school at UBCO and I have to BEG international students not to judge Canada by Kelowna because they have all said how unwelcoming and rude Canadians seem to be.
They spent more time talking about their food than they did talking about the Sunshine Coast. They spent virtually no time talking about the town of Powell River - or showing the sights around that town - and they didn't go to the town of Lund just up the road at the end of the 101 highway on the Sunshine Coast. Not much of a "Sunshine Coast" video.
I'm 1 minute and 6 seconds into this video and, already, this channel has made 2 mistakes in their narrative. They misnamed the supermarket, and they misnamed the ferry terminal.
In 1970 I moved to Kauai. Shortly thereafter I hiked into Kalalau Valley after taking LSD. When we were on the beach alone, me and my friend, the next day after staying the night naked on the beach to Cowboys Road up on the horses with bullet belts across their chest like Pancho Villa and carbine rifle's across their laps. They wrote up to us, pointed their guns at us and told us to leave the beach. They turned and rode off. In those days there was no goat Trail ledges that happened in the 90s. I believe there was a landslide down there but prior to that landslide they were riding horses in there from Haena. For a while, they were riding motorcycles on the trail all the way into Kalalau.
