Sadly, the Sennheiser HD 820 is quite boomy and nasal in the upper bass region, which is a common characteristic of closed-back headphones in my book. Apart from that it is the most balanced within the 8xx series, not too wide, not too bright, nice phantom center, perfect for audio engeneering. One of the well-kept secrets about the HD 8xx series is that the drivers are carefully matched at the factory, resulting in a noticeably balanced sound. This is a feature that is less pronounced in the HD 6xx series and below, where compromises have been made in this regard.
Your last wrap was backwards. imo a roadie wrap only makes sense for very long cables. For shorter cables I like to "fold" the cable in half, in half again, etc. and I keep a velcro tie on the cable to wrap it up. Much quicker.
The momentum4 are a good choice as an Allrounder for a low price meanwhile. I got them for 280 and prefer them to sony xm5. The 5 equalizer stages are nice to adjust to your music you prefer
I bought the Momentum 4, they are down to $300 which is a great value. They sound fabulous, great bass, it's been three weeks and I haven't needed to charge them up again. Having a 60 hour battery life is a huge advantage and benefit.
hey Bryan! my sister is going to the States and i ordered a Momentum 4´s for myself after a long long research. One thing i founded to be quite recurrent is some connection issues regarding bluetooth inconsistency and auto off/on function. How has been the experience for you so far?
I was lucky enough to be able to test them at my local hifi store and I have to say while I dont think its sound is worth 3000€ .. they are so comfortable that it is literally more comfortable to wear them then to not wear any headphones at all. I can not say that about anything else I tryed.
As for me, folding ability is a big disadvantage of Sonys 1000xm series. After some time folding headphones start to make an awful squeaking sound. Hope, it will not be a case with latest. I have Bowers Wilkins px7 first edition and for some time Sennheiser m4- they both are great. Folding ability without squeaking is great in Momentum 3, but they are heavier and their case is not sturdy enough for protection
I've had the AP2kti for a few years now and it has become my favorite headphone I've ever owned I have some pretty good ones like the Z1R and Elegia just to name a few. The detail retrieval is as good as anything I've heard and the soundstage is very coherent and clear for a closed-back headphone.
The display of my FIIO M6 is totally broken, but the device still works 100%, is there a way to repair it, where can I buy a new display to replace it myself. Thanks a lot for youre time
Thanks, I got one recently. Sound is great. But when I connect mojo 2 to the charger and I touch the chasiss, I get these vibrations under my fingers, like there is a current leak. Is this normal or I got a falty unit?
I'm really sad that you're taking a break from making videos Lachlan, i was watching your reviews all the way back in 2014 (the eph100s have been my daily driver for getting on 10 years), but i respect your decision to take time to tey something new. All the best, and I'll definitely be subbing to this channel.
