Your manner and style of presentation is SO refreshing 😊 I would look to view another video and find myself lingering still enjoying the views tours and music! Thank You!
It might be useful to listen to the pronunciations of these places before you record the voice overs. Thank you for putting the names in text on the video. I can tell that you put a lot of work into this and did your research for the voice over. Some places names are not understandable in the way that you say them though.
Thanks for your feedback and for watching, I always try my best in pronouncing places, I know sometimes I don’t get it right which is why I put the places in text on the screen 😊
We are considering a Club Med trip - last winter our trip to Whistler was a total rain out. We like to meet other people. If you aren't in a group - is is fairly easy to meet people on one of these trips?
Hi there! Yes, you can certainly meet others in your ski groups (they do make sure that English speaking guests have English speaking ski guides and groups) and there’s opportunities to meet others in other activities that the resort hosts. I used to always have a pass to Whistler (didn’t have one last year and didn’t buy one for this coming seasons). I was really impressed with skiing the Alps! This year I’ll be skiing in Japan.
8/28/2024 Thank you for the video of Koningsdam journey to Juneau. We just completed this cruise and loved it. You allowed me to see some excursions I missed while onboard. Thank you!
Hi there, you won’t need to bring bear spray on the trails near the lodge, however if you are venturing into the back country from the lodge at the tops of the gondola and hiking towards Sky Pilot and Ledge Mountains, it might be a good idea for those hikes.
Pleasant overview of day 1. Thank you. My first Queen Elizabeth Cruise to Alaska in September... the 10 day. I travel so much that I was not looking as forward to this trip as I could be. I think I am now! Visions of experiences!
Hi, I'm enjoying your videos about the Koningsdam - thanks for sharing such a good view of life on this cruise. We are looking to book this cruise for next year. Quick question - you say room service is complimentary and with no delivery charge, but do you tip the person who delivers your breakfast? We're new to cruising and want to understand the process around gratuities. Thanks
Thanks for watching and so happy to hear that you’re enjoying my Koningsdam videos! Tipping is totally up to each individual over and above the regular “crew appreciation”. There is a crew gratuity that you do pay each day that is automatically added to your shipboard account (Holland America sometimes has promotions where these are included). You can certainly tip whomever extra you feel gives you great service, it’s not required but they appreciate it. I hope this helps!
Very thorough review. However, throughout the almost 50 minutes you abused "actually", overused and annoying. Content was great but from a professional perspective you need to be aware of your commentary.
Hi there! I actually just sailed the Koningsdam again to Alaska last week (just got off the ship on Saturday) and there were many families. It’s very popular with multi generation families onboard. I’ve also sailed on the NCL Encore and she’s a beautiful ship! There are some differences in the itineraries and activities onboard, if you’d like to reach out to have a further chat you can send me an email at ariane@wanderlustjourney.ca 😊
(from July, 2024) Airport transit hotels tend to be a VERY bad choice - especially in premium, amenity-packed airports like Singapore Changi! Once one rents for longer than six hours, the price increases exponentially. If the guest is willing to go "landside," there is a wonderful 5-Star Crowne Plaza also in Terminal 3 - and next door to Jewel! Further, Crowne's rooms are larger and actually have ... WINDOWS! Price? Around $242 (USD) for a conventional 15:00 to 12:00 stay. Ambassador? Six hours: $192, 12-hours: $263. Again, VERY poor choice!
I would tend to agree, during this travel time (2022) it was an easier option and I wanted to review it. I recommend most of my clients to do a proper stopover in Singapore as it’s such an amazing city! I’ll be posting my recent stay at Marina Bay Sands in the coming weeks!
If you are in Piazza Navona, walk towards the north entrance/exit to Piazza di Tor Sanguigna, it’s on the left around the corner when you come to the street.
Thanks for watching! Unfortunately this cruise was sold out, so I was unable to show the various cabin categories. I do have a Koningsdam video on RU-vid where I do have a few of the other cabin and suite categories shown, they are sister ships so the cabins are very similar, most identical.
It really depends on the year (amounts of snowfall can differ from year to year) but I was advised that January through March is typically the best times to visit La Rosiere.
with regard to food, I was on the Queen Victoria in 2022, and I made a bad choice for my main course in the Britannia. I did not like it at all. I asked for something else, and they brought me a new main course with no quibbling.
Yes they did offer that, however I have a seafood allergy and the other choices that evening were just not really what I wanted. Believe me, over the course of the cruise I did not go hungry lol
Thank you for your videos, we are going on the 10 day from Vancouver on June 21, the packing seems complicated as it seems temps can range from winter coats to shorts. Your reviews are so helpful!
