Great to see 45105 running again. I used to follow the progress of this loco back in the noughties since first seeing it on one of my regular visits to the Barrow Hill Rail Ale Festival. Not been for a while, sadly and had lost touch with the restoration work. If I remember correctly, 105 & I are the same age, both dating from Match 1961.
Same age, eh. Well in 1961 I hated the peaks for ousting the Jubilees on the MML through leicester. But ten years later I loved them, and that has not changed.
Never been to Barrow Hill. Heard it’s really good and they host a great, Beer Festival. Which I would like to go to. Thanks a lot Pete, and look after yourself.
The beer festival was excellent when I used to visit 15+ years ago. A chartered bus service ran from the mainline rail station to BH so it was always easy to get back, regardless of the amount of sampling done at the fest.
Mrs Charlie didn't seem too happy with the early start. LOL. Finished up being a very good video, Tamworth seems to be a very good place, especially with the lines going over the station as well. Hope you dried out by the time you got home.
@ernestbailey9194 You're definitely right about her not liking the early start, Ernest, lol. She slept all the way and all the way back, bless her. Tamworth is a great place to go it's a mecca for everything there. And yes we were dried mate 👍 👌
Well Pete Water Orton is not good till around midday you should of told me what you was planning to do. I would have said you might do better at Tamworth then Water Orton later, but if you wanted to get back towards home you made the right choice. Was great that you got the two tank trains in and out of Kingsbury and getting a doubleheader would have been a bonus for me. In the end a great account of your day out, cheers Mike.
@antman09ful1 Cheers, Mike. Yeah, we didn't plan it well. We were expecting not stop action, lol. Never mind, it turned out to be an adventure, and it turned out a good day, mate, in the end. We need to catch up at some point, mate. Hope you're well mate and keep safe
Thanks a lot Pete, hope you found Tamworth, lived up to its name, though it looks like, you have to be quick together the Numbers, if you are spotting, as everything seemed to go through so fast. Doncaster & Mexborough not that special Yesterday.
Lovely video mate.i like your videos. I am a Stockton lad and it's nice to check out places in your areas, when I get out down there.my father in law built the shopping centre at donny.few years back. Spent many days there
@JohnDuncanPeacock Many thanks, John. It's the best day of the weekend by far now. Charlie was unsettled as she was tired. And every time we moved, she followed. Hence the whimper
I see you are trying to up your fitness levels by galloping a keen young springer around. From my experience of one who lasted 17 years! you are on a beating to nothing she will run rings round you for donkeys years. Best wishes Mike.
@michaelloughton2590 Thanks, Mike. Not so much trying as it tiers me out watching her when she starts, lol. Thanks for the advice mate 👍 lol its going to be fun times
another fantastic video Pete great footage mate really enjoyed it do they have double header 66s now on the cat litter ?? many thanks Pete stay safe a t b Syd👍👍🐶
@sydwoods.woodsendjunction9492 Many thanks, Syd. I'm glad you enjoyed it, mate. Not as a rule on the Drax, apart from when it comes to Doncaster on a Sunday to change loco's mate
@briangrant9380 Thanks, Brian. It was a great day, Sunday. It makes it better with all the engineers' trains every week. Charlie was just tired, that's all. Hence why she whimpers in it
Great stuff Pete, a great assortment of trains there. Charlie sounds like she was playing up a little there. Coming across this coming Thursday despite the poor weather forecast.
brilliant vid Pete loved the consists and the blue pullman mmm thats what you call a propper train and of coarse you saved the best till last that black 5 was awesome thanks for sharing take care a t b 👍🗯🐶 SYD
@@donnypete don’t know if it’s any good to you Pete. But just finished reading my copy of, industrial locomotives, there is a piece, with photos and a map of a works called, Yorkshire Brick Company, at Warmworth.which apparently was on the side of the Railway between, Conisborough and Donny. Let me know if you are want it, or if not I will throw it away.
That was a cracking day's filming. Plenty of sheds. Midland pull man & a black 5. Superb. I will be planning planning my next planning visit to donny when I get home. Thanks Pete. 😊😊
