It seems like every 5 or 6 years I get down to CG. I was there in 2022 for the Marvin Smith Memorial finale, it was awesome, very hot day, but good racing. I really like the setting of the place. Hoping to make it down there in 2025 at least once.
Im starting a sprintcar league so if you are interested in racing or know a couple people who also be interested in racing, we will be running PTA physics sprint cars
I may join at some point, usually when I do these racing sim/games videos, it's spur of the moment. I do have the link to the sprint cars and Flemington Speedway if you didn't get them yet. drive.google.com/file/d/1J0AWKE5pEHjnZBiP607JrXAKUxlya2Wo/view?usp=drive_link
The sprint cars or the track or both? I will have to see where I have them downloaded, I know it's on an external hard drive of mine, but can't remember which one. Once I do, I will upload it to Google Drive. Probably be sometime this weekend.
Still haven't forgot about you, was a bit of a crazy week and a half. Plus I can't remember what external hard drive I put it on. I put my racing videos I film on different hard drives by year, and I know my rFactor, NR2003, and other racing game mods are scattered around, I need to rearrange.
Yeah, the battle for the lead was getting really good through lap traffic. One of the photographers that was there that night caught a sequence of it. Can't remember off the top of my head, which one.
My grandfather Harold Clevenger owned cars from late 40's until his passing in 1993 I think it was. Back on the old half mile before turning to a 3/10 track, he had Ray Stevens, Nick Zvono, Bill Skaggs, and a few others drive for him. Later on in the 80's when it was turned to a 3/10, my uncles Bruce Clevenger and Troy Clevenger drove for him, and my dad started driving in late 81, but his first full season was in 1982. He raced until a crash in 2005 on the current 3/8 configuration ended his racing. Then my brother drove from 2013-2019. I wasn't around for the 1/2 mile track, but heard a lot of stories from family and many people I know. Definitely a lot of history at this track.
*_8 cars in a main event that is truly a shame! As much as I love a good 360 main, I don't think I could get myself to drive to any speedway to watch two heat races and a main event for eight cars !!!_*
To be honest, I figured only 5 cars were going to show up. Last week there was 7 Limited Sprints. 360 Sprint Cars are back this week, but with Skagit running 410's, and a lot of the guys from up there that run 360's have a 410. I don't expect anything over 5 or 6. Been thinking about maybe going to South Sound Speedway, they have Northwest Focus Midgets, Vintage Modifieds, Legends, Bandaleros, and Bump to Pass, and last time the Focus Midgets were there they had 15 or 16. Plus I haven't been to South Sound Speedway in a few years.
Love racing, I miss it a lot. I know the Flagman, he's my son. I live in Illinois so this is a great way for me to watch what he loves to do. I've got interesting story of him and Carl Edward's ( former #99 Nascar)😅
That is really cool. I haven't met him yet. Past years I spent all season at GHR, but plan to be at other tracks off and on. I think I have about 8 races at GHR (mostly big events) but depending on weather, as GHR is 5 minutes away from my house, I may be there a little more often.
That 35 car was there one race last year, and the other car was #19 Taylor Miller, he will be there for the first Super Stock race. As of right now, my May schedule (weather depending) won't see me back until May 25th and 26th. But depending on weather in other areas, if it's looking like a rain out. I may show up at GHR.
I know a lot is missing on that schedule. If I recall they had their WARPA meeting in Portland this past weekend. Hopefully they have something figured out for the Super Stocks. As of right now, I will be at GHR for the season opener. I am slowly putting together a schedule, but waiting for the full schedules to be released.
I asked carly n tanner holmes wat is a limited sprint on the west coast...they wud talk limited n 360s....but never point out the difference....back here in PA...limited sprints = 358 cubic inch....they will run with 360s...williams grove n lincoln speedway both have 358/limited sprints run bout every other weekend....
Basically a Limited Sprint here is a 360, but I think it's a cast iron block and some other changes compared to a aluminum block in a ASCS/Open 360. Some do run 358 motors, 350's, there is even a crate motor that is around as well. I know down in California there is a 305 class. Matter of fact I was at Trophy Cup and a few of those cars I think were from the Racesaver Sprints that run at Hanford.

Man it sucked for me the first time I make the 4½ drive down to race with these guys i get a flat tire and couldn't finish the car 😞 just my luck. Not to mention my tow rig blew a head gasket just getting to the track not the weekend i had hoped for LOL
I don't know if it was one of your crew guys, but I was standing at the shack to buy pit passes when someone came up asking the start time, and mentioned about your tow rig having issues. Glad you made it though.
@@ARRacingVideos yes my tow rig is my 06 Impreza outback sport it blew a head gasket about 45min from the track so my buddy the guy in the S10 dropped his race truck off and came back to pick up my races car and I so I could still go racing. Then my uncle came down with his son's blazer so I could tow my race car home and my other uncle met me where I left my broke down car to tow it home not the weekend I had hope 4 but I love this track if I lived closer I would be there way more. But Skagit speedway is my backyard so that's where I am at. But you can bet I'll be back down there for at least one race next season even if it is the last race like this one this track was fun 🤘
Well that's a wrap for this season. Hopefully we have a class to come back to next year. I took 3rd in points this year. Not too bad for a $3500 engine program. A lot to be said for engine reliability....LS engines rule...as long as you are ok not making it to the podium anyway. lol
Sorry to hear that you broke, you were looking good out there. You had a damn good season for what you are running with. It was great talking with you as well. I will make it to the season opener and maybe few others. As of right now, I am going to be visiting other tracks. It's a damn shame because GHR is 5 minutes from my house, but it's time to see other places. But I will be there for mostly the big races, the season openers and weather will be a factor at other places, especially if I go south.
The only way they were catching was in traffic, but Logan still had that advantage. I wish it would of went all the way green. It would of been a great battle. It was a fun night, went by quick, I actually watched the Dirtvision stream a few days later and it was great racing. Although 2022's event was better, but I am glad they had a great track on Monday.
I am hoping to have both Sunday and Monday uploaded by the weekend. I usually wait 3 weeks, but not anymore, I'm done with that, at least a week or two from here on out, but I think the weekend would be a perfect time.
They were running this weekend, but GHR dropped the whole night from the schedule. Next weekend is championship night, and then there are two non points on September 23rd and 30th.
@@ARRacingVideos ya are championship is this weekend as well but that is Kool there are two non championship races I sure wish we had that but that would be a great time to go down there just for more track time 🤔
I'm taking it that the white flag was shown and that's why the race ended the way it did? Also i noticed that the car leading the race. Had a much higher deck height in the rear compared to other cars! Was there a DQ for that? Also where in the Great NW is this track located? Thank you for a response!.
The race was called, on lap 38 of 40, as you see near the end, numerous restarts. Personally they should of finished it. But the outcome was probably going to be the same. Jesse Williamson is a monster out here and I mean that in a good way. He's awesome. As for the deck height. I am not sure, I don't know what IMCA rules are with that, but he's been running that car all year and has passed tech at other tracks, so I am assuming it is legal. It's a SDMF chassis, located in Oregon. That is where they build them. Awesome looking cars. The track is located in Elma, Washington, it's called Grays Harbor Raceway. Been around for many many years. This is the 3rd configuration of it. Back in the 50's and 60's it was a half mile, then in 80 or 81, it was a 3/10's, and in 2003 it was turned into a 3/8's.
Everyone exited their cars under their own power. I think the car that flipped into turn 3, Dalton Christmas had a bit of a lump on his head, but he was ok.
42 has way to much cross in it. Loose in and tight on throttle. Take down rf spring rate or load you’ll be way faster. Also add some compression to the lf shock. Dropping off the bars upsetting it way to much. Also add rr load and or spring rate.
Definitely was a rare, VERY rare sight to see. In the heat race Nick Evans got upside down. I've never seen him flip a midget, at least not in a long time. Just a very weird night, but luckily everyone was ok in this incident, and the earlier incident involving Kyle Hanson he is doing ok as well.
