Say what you will about William Shatner but he still manages to find work well into his 90s rather than staying at home and typing up the most vile, hateful crap on X like these other Trek actors who's careers were over before they even hit their 30s.

Wil Wheaton has become one of the most hate filled and divisive figures in public life. I was a huge fan of his work on Geek and Sundry, but he used up that good will before he turned up the anger against his family and anyone with the slightest disagreement with him to eleven.

Oh my gosh! That was awesome. I met Mr. Shatner just recently and in those brief moments, he was an asshole to me too! Well done, Will!! LLAP

I have watched this many times over the years and it just sunk in for me how it really would have been Shatner at his worst when he was directing ST:V

Unreliable narrator. An entire generation is so into their own trauma they cannot get over themselves. Or maybe I’m just a meanie 😢. I’m sure W S wasn’t always a nice guy.

Shatner seems to be the kind of guy that hates that the only thing he is known for is a sci-fi show that aired for 3 seasons in the 60's. It's made him bitter inside.

Wil, my God man. We ALL love you. Thank you for being awesome. And thank you for sharing this story with all of us. Your stories are such a vital part of the TNG lore. I'm so glad you came back for Picard. ❤❤❤

That was entertaining, for sure. I always have had the impression that William f'ing Shatner was a dick and this confirmed it. LOL. Even then, when I was so young (71 now), I had the impression that he was way too full of himself. In succeeding years as I saw him in various roles and advertisements, my opinion was supported. Thank you, Will Wheaton. That was great!

So very many years ago... before this was made anyway... I came across Will's vlog. He was dealing with a lot of things at that point... but he interacted with those of us that commented on his posts in such a sensitive way. Despite all he's gone through he's not only gotten stronger but he's also willing to be open with people. I love when he's able to be creative and funny with it all as well.

What I don't understand is why Shatner decided to pick on another actor about their costume (which Wil didn't design) and the writing/casting decision to have a teenage ensign on the bridge (which was Roddenberry's idea, right?) What an a**hole thing to do to a teenage fanboy and professional colleague.

When Wm Sh💩tner was on SNL and did a skit about fans at conventions, it reminded me SO much of how he spoke to fans at a con in Atlanta in 1976. He was rude and condescending to anyone who asked a question he didn't like. I'm sorry young Wil had to learn the harsh truth about this man. The Next Gen cast was very protective of Wil. That The Great Bird, Eugene *Wesley* Roddenberry, watch over his young namesake to this degree WAS a pleasant surprise. And who knew the theme to TNG could sound so good with just a melodica & a guitar?🥰

I'm one of the very original Trekkie. Yes, there are still a few of us around. Since Shatner's still alive and I'm younger than he maybe there's still some time left in my old bones, to catch up on amazing creative works from the people that I've admired all of my life. Wil, you and your friends here did a wonderfully creative job of storytelling. A truth, your truth and all of our truths who grew up with Gene Roddenberry's much beloved for generations of the Star Trek who still boldly go where all men and creatures now seem to go. Thank you so much for this. Fine job. 😏 I laughed through the entire performance. BTW, my son absolutely loved Stand By Me. But then we both love all of Stephen King's stories. What a cast that movie had! Since this was 11 years ago, I guess I should catch up with what your doing today. Live long and continue to prosper, Wil Wheaton.

must admit wesley was not my favourite character on TNG. even though Will has had a lot of shit over the character, he has proven to be a great actor in further roles, very talented in many ways and just damned funny and good hearted in embracing the shit given to him at that time and turning it into gold. my respect and admiration grows the more i see him in different shows. him playing himself in big bang shows he is able to laugh at himself and ignore the BS.

I have never liked either of the Crushers in ST:TNG. They were two of the weakest characters in the show and any episode that featured them was usually going to be one of the worst episodes. I thought I would give Will another chance and invested 2 minutes that I will never regain in listening to him ramble. I should have known better than to listen to a Crusher.

Only just seen this but as someone whose met ‘Shatner’ when he appeared on Graham Norton in the UK, even meeting him as crew he is a complete ‘asshole’ the say never meet your heroes, totally rue with him I did have the joy of seeing how nervous he was before he went on.

I didn't like the empath nor the kids on the Enterprise at first but as they wove them into the series I warmed up to the idea and in honour of Mr. Weaton's participation, and all the other fun stuff he has done since, I have tried Not To Be a Dick. Tried.

I can totally identify with young Mr. Wheaton... I was "Mr. F*cking Shatner's" stand-in on the last three episodes of "The Practice" before it became "Boston Legal"... Bill was .. umm.. gracious to me.. most of the time... the rest.. well... that will never come out in the tell-all book I have been repeatedly begged to pen... and never will write... (I also was on Stage 5 at Paramount, next to Stage 12.. (if you don't know Stage 12.. you are NOT a Trekkie) during my 3 year tenure on "Angel")... 'nuff said

Wesley was a terrible character. Wheaton is at best, inadequate actor. Wheaton is a decent fellow, and he IS a good story teller. He would be great to play D&D with.

It's wonderful to watch all this play out from 70 years of age starting out as a Star Trek fan as a kid. It took this long for all this to happen and the perfect hilarious story to form. Second set of hugs for Wil Wheaton.

I think Will's acting career should have been more a list than Big Bang. He was punished unjustly for not sticking with TNG until the finish.
