Why would anyone say anything bad about Artemus??? The man had just been in a plane crash, and he valiantly went for help for his fallen comrades, I think some of whom he'd seen dead. Did everyone expect him to be of clear mind?
I've seen some stories about Artemis having sex with a 14-year-old girl probably in a state where it's legal back then. Other bands brag about it how they didn't take a bath for a week and they were had a bet if somebody would do oral on them.... a lot of bands they surely did have a lot underage groupies backstage nobody hated them I don't give a s*** what people say I like the Artimus Pyle band and it's one Skynyrd real member left and yes he's an ass kicking drummer I probably would rather see that then pay all that money to see the fake real Skynyrd like last year it wasn't all it was cracked up to be $20 for a drink I mean the crowd was amazing the venue sucks if you're handicapped like me I walked up those C-Max stairs in Canandaigua a man was I hurting and go back down to go to the bathroom after I was up at the fence smoking some green I had the best LOL I thought I was going to fall down I got dizzy I was going down all those stairs cuz I'm 62 but I made it back down and I barely made it back up and no way she's easy be opening for Skinner that should be Skynyrd opening for ZZ concert aren't like they used to be you can't afford it anymore unless you go to a small venue with exorbitant you can't believe prices of food even water I bring a water bottle on poor oh wait and you have to dump it out and then my friend filled it up and carried it up the stairs for me it's f****** ridiculous really the damn prices who in the hell can afford to go to a concert anymore ?? and not people that are really fans. Having survived the plane crash must be traumatizing the rest of your life no matter if the story is true about a farmer with a gun or anything it's f***** up imagine going through that s***
I watched the commentary with Gene Odom and in my opinion that Gary Rossington was a very selfish person and Ronnie told Gene that Gary would stab him in the back. I can not watch any of the new stuff because of what happened. May they all Rest in Peace including Gary Rossington.
I believe Gene Odum over any of these ppl. He truly loved Ronnie. Seems the rest of this bunch is a mob of money hungry fools that would shit their pants if Ronnie Van Zant could walk through the front door again.
As a 12 year old in 75,we turned on to Skynyrd and they changed our lives. To this day I love Skynyrd, now 61 years old and I will love them till I die and beyond
Why are ya'll so damn loud though my god... this place was preserved and these people go peeling shit off the walls like children. It's okay they gonna tear it down anyway though right.
I fully understand Gary ... Gary is not the kind of man you put such things even if true, in a book for the world to see for a very long time, it's unforgivable. Through that Artimus burnt his trust and loyalty ... I can see how Artimus could do it, he has a good heart but also is the naive hippie type... He simply did not understand the effects of what he did.
He was a man’s man, turns out there are so many men who were just like Keith. Soft, loving, emotional, caring, wanting to be loved. THAT IS A MAN. You heard it in his music and voice. That is why men and women loved him so much! HE IS DEEPLY MISSED! Not missed as much as Lorie missed him! 😢❤ IM SO HAPPY I WAS ABLE TO HEAR HIM WHEN HE WAS ALIVE. So happy we’re able to hear him now. PLAY ON KEITH!
I can hear Gene Odum saying these words to those guys, "take another toke, have a blow for your nose, one more drink boy fool drown you", what a damn shame. Still makes me sad to think about that day. We had just had them in an arena that was the union steward for the stagehands union a couple of months before the crash. So I did get to see this line up of the band live and again I got to see them on the Tribute tour in the same arena. I have seen and worked with several times at big out door country music festival I stage managed for about 20 years.
Their ace in the hole was Billy Powell and Ed King was the royal flush. He brought the wisdom from already being in a number 1 hit band. Not to mention he was an excellent musician. Steve who had replaced him was also very good but he had a much different sound as he was a serious blues player and applying that to this country rock sort of thing called southern rock and it worked well. I was really looking forward to their next album. The album that never came, because Steve was gone not long after he thought he had it made.
