So I did this job two days ago, and there were no leaks. I even went on a 20 mile drive… nothing. Today I went to fill up the tank, and there was a puddle of fuel under the car, below where the filter sits. No other leaks or drips since. What could it be?
I am old-school and with the automatic transmission I don’t use the power shifters in power mode I use the stick to shift up and down just like a regular manual transmission.
Have some blue smoke coming from my JCW N14. Not all blue, looks like a bit of over fueling too. (It's been tuned, so could be a fueling thing). But the blue tinge...could it be the valve cover? I have a catch can. And she's running exactly as she should, runs Great, so can't see it being the rings or turbo. Could be wrong of course. There is a bit of oil staining near the top.right of the valve cover, near where my hoses run to the catch can. Might have to pull it off and check it out properly...
I followed the video step by step and things went great until my NT510 Elite did not have the option for clear adaptations....is there a different format on the newer NT510 for this procedure??? I have a 2017 countryman S all4. Thank you for any help.
When doing this job it seems I have hit a bump when trying to take of the top off the housing I broke the plastic corners off I’m not sure if I’m doing it wrong or if mine is just on ridiculously tight and if it is should I just replace the whole housing and is there any instructions on how to do so?
Interesting about using two catch cans. I am currently using one catch can serving the intake manifold. I own a 2008 S Supercharged. I suppose it would be a good idea to run a second unit for the supercharger? If so, where exactly should it be installed? Thank you.
Can you look into this I am a noob but the icon t8 would also reset this? It says Performing all bi-directional functions: .Calibration .Relearns .Actuations .Adjustments
Hi mate, enjoying your posts and learning heaps from your efforts. I have the Ep6cdt engine in my Peugeot 508 but must admit it’s much easier to work on because of the chassis space around the motor. Just have a question about the engine cooler/exchanger bolts that attach to the front of the housing. Pelican say 10nm do you agree? Also is it necessary to take the radiator hose off the housing if leaving the housing on the block(completed gaskets previously) and just remove the radiator hose attaching to the cooler itself. Also hoses off why is there a need to drain oil ? Regards Craig
I'm new to your channel and absolutely love your content. DUAL catch cans are 1000% percent the way to go! No more blue smoke due to the blow-by! This is a must for the N14. Set up my R55 Clubman the exact same way you have it set-up and works perfectly! Thanks for the content!
About to tackle this. I have had many parts off for replacement. I think you can gain a little more room if you remove the U shaped rad support. Its just a few bolts and you could gain maybe a little more space above. Otherwise this looks more doable than service mode.
I have cars with 400k miles or more on them and never had to do timing chain work on them and they still do not need a new timing chain, so whatever design they came up with for these mini engines is crap.
Dude sitting in O'Reilly's parking lot trying to read this thing I think you saved me it was very confusing because there's no definite line of demarcation. That last part about looking for the lowest point where it's dry on there was a saver
Thanks for the info, much appreciated, I ended up using a ratchet strap to hold the base of the filter and the large screwdriver to twist off the lid, then used the screwdriver to pry it off the base, 60611 miles on a 2011 mini s and the filter was as dark as yours was with dark gas in the housing.
