Tanner focuses on both the philosophy and sociology of a man's appearance. Rather than assuming all men know why and how to dress better, I help them determine their aesthetic choices based on their life goals and how their appearance can help them accomplish those goals.
He was like a time traveller from the future.. watching the square one videos.. Chris Doyle was good as well but Mike was so evil on a bmx.. such a random video this lol thanks though good memories of a simpler time.. every time I hear “like a prayer” on the radio I get goose bumps
Skate scene of the 90s? lol. Son the skate scene has been around way before then and it started with bored surfers who couldn’t get to the beach or the waves sucked.
Watching this in 2024 - unlike gender it's on a spectrum. Love it Tanner! Still very valuable for a young man to watch your older videos, to get a better understanding, how I want to present myself to the world when it comes down to style.
Classic Black ....... never goes out of style ........ can wear any color shirt or tie with it ..... dress it up ...... dress it down ....... Black is best suit to start with ..... simple !!
Knives are extremely important and one of the best tools that’s not a firearm to defuse a lot of situations. Someone pulling a gun in self defense usually wants to stop their aggressor from getting close, but a knife says that you’re ready for your aggressor to get close so you can put in work. I’ve always said that I’m more willing to confront someone with a gun than I am someone with any sharp object such as a knife or machete. Fuck that.
I don't think most people prefer 40s/50s suits because society peaked back then. We prefer them because the proportions are objectively better. And it's okay to believe that those time periods were better aesthetically than now. Though the present is a better time period in terms of human rights of course.
Lol, man, I can not imagine the mind frame required to dress like George Washington and think I look good. Yet in it's time I'm sure the stylish employed the fashion in better ways than others. Fashion is ever changing but style is eternal. Tanner, where are you, man!? Your perspective and content is refreshing! And needed! Hoping to see more.
I don't wanna nag on your content, but I just wanna say this. I'm not going to think about the message I'm sending when wearing pyjamas, that one seemed a bit weird to me. Like, the two things that matter to me with a pyjama, is that its comfortable and that it looks cool to me. Don't really care about other peoples thoughts there. Other than that, it was an insightful video.
You really have a lot of interesting clothing brands in America. I’m based in Northern Europe and it seems that there are some things that are just very difficult to find. Like properly made shoes that are not too formal.
Bottom line: you HAVE to wear that suit. The tattoo dad is likely a total poser, but probably has a bit more freedom in his daily life. While folks who wear ties, suits, or even business casual outfits tend to be hamstrung the second they wake up. Everything is Ps & Qs, so as to appear to be a more viable promotion candidate to your boss/supervisor/superior or more conventional and trustworthy to a potential client. The whole lifestyle is rigid and unnatural. That's a hell of a lot of line towing just for extra money, more status, keep climbing, keep obeying, money money, money, status, status, status, climb, climb, climb. In the end, you do you. Seems some people need structure to succeed in life, even if that structure is dictated by somebody else. Also, some people need the approval of authority figures to feel a sense of accomplishment or status. All that said, I usually do feel grandiose, when I'm wearing a suit. Constricted, but dignified. Ugh.
