The live-action Superboy tv series that ran from 1988-1992 (4 seasons) has yet to get a remaster. The official dvds look shocking. I'm attempting to improve them using Ai. It's far from a perfect process. But it's fun. And hopefully others will enjoy these short clips as much as i am enjoying making them.
It's funny how they have Luger repeat the same sentence twice. It's like they said "we'll pay you per word" and wanted to stiff him for half his salary. Or he just couldn't memorize more than that one sentence. :D
Man I loved this series maybe in the early nineties. Of course I already recognized back then that the FX are not perfect but they had so many things out of the (silver age) comics included, like Mxyzptlk and Bizzarro. And the costume and flying when attached to cables looked like the Superman Movie. Only irritating was that in the comics the started the modern age Superman which had no Superboy in it. But also Superman IV was still the Silver Age Superman. Rewatching it now with my little Girls, they love it (but you gotta be careful, some episodes are pretty dark). And interesting that they nearly have a similar setting like Lois and Clark with the Daily Planet.
I believe this is pretty close to the truth of it. Its funny to me when people think they are here for our resources. There are plenty of planets, asteroids, etc. for that. And if they meant us harm, they would've done that already. I also dont think they are a dying race and need our DNA. No, I believe we are their "offspring" and they monitor our progress. Our brains are capable of so much more and they are slowly awakening and raising our consciousness/frequency. I don't believe they mean us harm with the abductions. That's why they erase our memories of it. And they don't "land in the White House lawn" cause why would they? Do we negotiate with the Alpha when we take and use animals for medical research or put them in zoo's? We don't really even consider what that's like for them!! Sometimes I feel like we must be such a disappointment with our warring, hateful, greedy ways. But then I think of all the beauty, love and compassion human can have too. I think they have something like The Prime Directive to let us figure that out on our own. But I think they have used people like Spielberg, Lucas, Roddenberry and Kubrick to slowly acclimate us to these ideas and make disclosure not so jarring and scary. I wish the world could accept the fact that we are not, in fact, alone. Maybe then, we could be a more united race, get over our petty differences, join and contribute to our galactic brother and sisterhoods and really be who we were meant to be.❤❤❤
How many hybrids do you guys think were used in the making of this production have you noticed all the close-ups of the giant eyed people throughout the series? I have
Steven Spielberg pulled so much from UFO lore but the artifact always bothered me in this show I thought it may be the bismuth magnesium metamaterials that people are talking about nowadays or as some call them Linda Moulton how's art's parts but I realize the artifact in the show is a representation of the Black Knight satellite it shaped the same and collect data Steven Spielberg gets 10 out of 10 in my book for this now I guess I'm going to have to watch his show encounters on Netflix
He remembered where his clothes were. One of my favorite episodes is when Superman grabs a bundle of dynamite and steps to the corner of the room and allows it to go off right at his groin.
This was a pretty good show. They did drag out the ending way more than necessary but overall, it's such an interesting story. Very much enjoyed watching it again after so many years
Is this slightly abridged. I may have miss remembered on both counts seem to remember Owen Crawford shooting (or at least it was implied) the father and 2 boy scouts who found the UFO and also actually seeing John showing how he looked to Sally? Forgive me if I'm wrong.
A couple people said the same. I haven’t removed anything though. It’s exactly as it appeared on the U.K. version of the dvd. I’m not sure if it’s a Mandela effect type thing, where the implication of the scene was so strong that we all remember it slightly differently. Still hoping someone will check their American dvd and let me know. (Also kinda hope someone uploads the bonus features from the American version. There were a couple extras that didn’t make it onto the British version and I’d like to see them) There’s a few weird things in this series. Like how one of the “previously on Taken” segments at the start of one episode shows a scene that didn’t actually appear in the previous episodes at all. Like they ran out of time in one episode so just decided to put that scene in the “previously” section. It’s really weird. But again I wonder if that’s different on the US version. It’s odd to say the least. But this is the version I’ve been watching for the past decade lol
I was a huge Superman fan since the early 60s but somehow I missed this series. Too busy in the military at that time I guess. It looks cheesy and the opening music was awful but sorry I missed it. Too bad it's not available anywhere, and I've certainly looked everywhere.😊
Can buy it on RU-vid, Amazon or iTunes. It used to be on tubi in the US for free but unfortunately not anymore. Tbh though. For your first time watching, probably better to Jack Sparrow it or something. Maybe if you enjoy it you’ll buy it one day. But Warner aren’t helping by making it difficult to get hold of. Anyway. Enjoy! Yeah it’s a cheesy show, and I’ll be honest. The first season is pretty awful most of the time. But it gets better and better. Season three practically soft-rebooted the show. Making the tone a bit darker (though still with plenty of humor when needed) it would have fit right alongside the 1990 Flash tv series if Warner had decided they were in the same universe. Kinda wish they had.
