Hi, could you show me more about the homosexuality information that the Spartakus defended? I really have a huge interest in knowing about it, but I never found such information, if you can Send it to me, I would really appreciate it. I actually loved the video, it’s perfect!!! I loved the social issue of LGBTs, I thought it was simply incredible :). Sorry if there are any mistakes in the sentence, I'm using a translation I don't speak English, my language is Brazilian Portuguese:
I don't know much and I don't have that great of an interest in it, but here's some stuff I do know, from another comment I responded to that mentioned something similar: So I do have to admit here that was not fully aware of how progressive the Spartakists and later KPD actually were, it was just a rough estimation. That said, both homosexuality and transsexuality were studied and to extents recognized within the scientific community during the Weimar Republic, most notably headed by the Institut für Sexualwissenschaft (Institute for sexual Sciences) lead by Magnus Hirschfeld, a gay man credited as one of the first "LGBT" (the term didn't exist yet) advocates and the only physician in the word during that time to aid in the first gender reassignment surgeries even before the republic. I would have to look further into the Spartakists and their ideology (I could only find very few resources at the time of making the video) but I would assume they'd be on board with this as per what I cite below. "Legalisation" is also not an issue as homosexuality was relatively widely accepted and practiced during the Weimar republic despite being illegal. This graph shows you persecution of homosexuals under paragraph 175 from around 1900 to it's abolishment (in the FRG) in 1969: upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/4e/%C2%A7175_chart_of_convictions.png As you can see persecution went quite far down during the Weimar period, I also quote Wikipedia here: _"There was a vigorous grassroots campaign against Paragraph 175 between 1919 and 1929 [...]. But, much as during the time of the Empire, during the Weimar Republic the parties of the left failed to achieve the abolition of Paragraph 175, because they lacked a majority in the Reichstag."_ The article further reads: _"[...] When this draft was discussed in 1929 by the judiciary committee of the Reichstag, the Social Democratic Party, *the Communist Party*, and the left-wing liberal German Democratic Party at first managed to mobilize a majority of 15 to 13 votes against Paragraph 296. This would have constituted legalization of consensual homosexuality between adult men. [...]"_ As per en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paragraph_175#Weimar_Republic This seems to strongly suggest that the Legalisation of homosexuality would be greatly within the KPD's interest, especially under the leadership of Luxemburg. Excuse me using Wikipedia but I think it's good enough for this situation yk
The lyrics are good but this version doesn't have the power to it that the original does. No disrespect to whoever is singing it, but it does sound like someone is sat in their room singing. Doesn't quite invigorate the spirit as the OG does.
