Thanks! You can easily hike this route in less time. A one nighter is prob more common. We had a long weekend so we decided to enjoy it and hiked really short days.
@subproject43 yes, I'm in town for a few days but not sure if I have time ? I may go home tomorrow? It would be great to see you all. Lots of golf n stuff this trip around
I've been on this River dozens of times over the last 45 years. Seen lots of changes mostly the amount of people that come here now I hope it doesn't get destroyed and that people respect the river and only leave their footprints
Excellent video! We’re looking to do this type of trail soon on the Buffalo. What days were you on the River? I’ve heard a lot about it being busy during the summer, did you experience that at all or were your camps not near any of the weekender areas? Any other tips you can provide are greatly appreciated. We’re in the Atlanta area too 🛶
Thank you. We paddled the lower section which tends to see fewer paddlers than the upper. We also paddled Sun-Friday which I am sure helped. We saw very few people and never had trouble finding a campsite. This may seem insignificant but the only thing I would have changed is to have enclosed water shoes instead of a sandal type shoe like a Teva. So many little rocks got stuck between the soles of our feet and sandals walking along the river. Have a great trip!
We have camped at all of these sites in the Swamp and seeing your video brought back some great memories. -I too have a camera at the bottom of that swamp, but just as I was about to go in after mine, a gator swam past the front of my canoe, about 10 yards from me. SMH. The camera is still there, 12 years later. - I have picture of my buddy napping in his zero gravity chair, with a gator sitting in the water right behind him, that I took at Canal Run. Surely it isn't the same gator, before it lost its eye??? We went to the Swamp, every year for 10 years, prior to Covid, then we just never have made it back...but we have secured our permits for a trip coming up next month! Looking forward to getting back in the Swamp! Very well shot, edited, and narrated video. I enjoyed watching it. Thanks for sharing.
This is what I have in my notes. Water gage heights per "Monitoring location 02346180" (Flint River Outdoor Center) April 2nd 5.2' April 3rd 4.95' April 4th 4.61' (the day we ran Yellowjacket Shoals)@@SethMcStouts
Sorry one last question. As far as level. The outfitter is telling me to add 3.7 ft to USGS gauge online. Was that list of levels just straight from online? Thanks again for all the great info .
We canoe-camped down the Suwannee many times in the 1970's. Would like to do it now with all the organized facilities. I remember all the sights you showed, swimming thru the tunnel at Telford Spring and Troy Spring had the hull of a paddle-wheeler.
It is people like you that are destroying this place. I live here. You drive your vehicles through our waterways and have no respect for nature. Y'all make me sick.
This is a cool trip! I enjoyed the video… lots of logistics on this one! I’d love to chat about some of the work and planning that went into this….great video!
@@subproject43 The Suwannee River group Paddle you guys did at the beginning of the year was really fun to watch! Such a cool experience…. 9 canoes 7 days 95 miles, Wow!
You do amazing work on your videos. Great job of capturing the vibes. You really seem to have a talent for this. I imagine great things from you down the road and look forward to more.
You did good going over yellow jacket shoals I navigate it in a 10f fishing kayak it's dangerous especially in high water flows just respect it if you try for the first time
