If you go only to Stresa and Borromean islands you don't need. If you want to explore the lake further to the north or go to the nearby Lake Orta, then it's better if you have a car. I used public transport but bus services are irregular and you need to know the schedule.

If you're a woman, you should be a little cautious. I stayed in all-inclusive hotel and basically I didn't go outside except for the group excursions I have booked. I filmed this video during the Sousse and Monastir excursion.

I'm missing that view from the street pointing eastwards with its panoramic-like view directly towards the BRASOV hill. I stopped there at the seafood restaurant; one of the best meals I've ever had 😀
