That is a fantastic routine. Only a real working professional could create such a routine with its simplicity, misdirection, and surprise. There is no stronger misdirection than having the child open the box. You could have walked an elephant in while they were all watching him open the box. The fact that it was empty made surprise all the more impactful. The final "disappearance" of the box is an extra bonus.
I’m just south of Tampa and was offered $150 for a show in one of our high end senior residences. I’m still contemplating because my experience is in kids birthday magic shows. I haven’t done a show in 5 or 6 years (retired), but I’d really like to bring some joy to these nice people. A few weeks ago I twisted balloons for about an hour and these people were so happy - they talked about the experience for weeks to follow.
Hi Steve! Years ago I was a kid’s magician (they can be brutal). I’ve since retired and volunteer in a beautiful nursing home. I was asked to put on a magic show for the seniors - do you think they’ll “buy” my kids magic? I’ve also got some cool card tricks but those are hard to perform for group. Meh. Honestly, this one by Tora from Iran is not as good as your other one "Magic Watering Can" Tall - Silk Flowers" . This is a step backwards. Maybe this works ok as a garish, over-the-top clown prop (if that's the kind of act someone is doing) , but the silk flowers (roses) version was much better. And even the other one you show at 1:44 , with the carnation-like blooms is better design for flowers, imo.

Steven you are awesome,... As you know these pumps break, I have some fun things that can be done with the broken pump, there is also a comedy pump on the market which has a pop off gag,.... somewhere I have mine which has a mini spring snake. you make it fun :)
