I've been trying to determine what I have in my pile of silky chicks.... I felt great until you said throw all that out the window when it comes to fancy breeds....
I have silkies which are very small as well, and I also have Orpingtons. Orpingtons are the yellow chickens, I see you have one. They don’t really pick on our little silkies, they just try to be the “leader”.
The heatwave killed half of our plants this year. We got some and some ok size but nothing lile we got the year befofe. The spring planting did do better than expected, considering
It took me about 3 years to finally get the hang of garlic. First, grow the right kind of garlic for your area. I have to grow hardback in my growing zone 5b. Second, use the biggest and best bulbs to plant. And the most important thing I learned it not to plant too early. When many of the RU-vid gardeners are recommending planting garlic sometime in November for my growing zone, I've had much better success waiting almost a moth later, planting them in mid to late December. I grow mine in grow bags, so over wintering them was a problem. I tried an unheated garage, but not enough light. Just leaving them outside in the elements froze them solid and they all died--grow bags remember. So, when I finally got a low greenhouse/grow tunnel type thing, It worked perfectly. I got beautiful garlic this year.
Me checking mine and feel upset I have 4 roosters and 1 chicken... I am gonna wait and see.. I hope i dont have whole family of roosters... That would be most unlucky hatch.
yah hens = eggs witch are food.Tell em they are only egg layers for 2-3 years then they are meatbirds as they slow down eggs, I hope u can convince em.
Good video, wish you would have ended it with you harvest this year. I can’t figure out if you genius on your posting date or if u should have waited til it was planting time. But I think it’s genius because my harvest wasn’t all that I had hoped for that’s why I watched this. The squirrels dug most of it up and it looks like I have allium miner issues in my garden uggg got some rust on some of them too. Couldn’t win this year. But you got a new subscriber here. We have similar growing situations.
