Your father was a generous man through and through. One night, I sat next to him at the bar at Kelly's (now Crown & Bull) in Dunedin. We had a great conversation and even though he knew I was a vegetarian, he still insisted that I come pick up some BBQ ribs and fixin's for my coworkers at DCI Biologicals the next day. Of course he hooked me up with a delicious slice of pecan pie, all on the house. RIP Eli, I will never forget your kindness. <3

I left Tai chi in Comox BC because the male instructor was a BULLY who never knew of nor practiced the peaceful way. It's a shame that men cannot harness their egos even when teaching this discipline. Instructors need to be vetted.

Lovely . In the off leash area it is permitted only to be allowed if you are training............. Rubbish and poppycock. Rules say dog must be under control and within your field of vision with in the designated area during the certain hours. The current complainer seems semi lucid but many hammock off leash users might say his behavior at the park and environs is very much the problem, not the other people and their dogs he discribes. ....... Wake up and see - dunedin needs to grow - more business more residences more people more cars. better offerings for off leash companionship with our dogs within city limits is a good thing. I wonder if Dunedin can do it. Where are the destination dog parks of Dunedin ?
Dunedin would've served itself well to have remained more focused on it's roots, early business owners and residents. Thank God Eli's family, legacy and iconic business have survived the superficial, polished 'growth' of Dunedin.
Are dog parks a good thing ? Are good dog parks even a better thing ? Dunedin lacks dog parks (good parks). The hammock is a oasis to off leash dog or really to anyone. Rules can be made for people with dogs but unfortunately we can't apply socialalbility rules to people as we might dogs. A man comes to the park with his dog and seeks love, but he only winds up churning out disruptions and ill will where he goes. He goes to the city and says these people at the dog park don't love me. Please make them go away ! Is Dunedin so poor or shortsighted that we do not see the great need for more open spaces for dog off leash. I think positive action for finding more useful space for off leash in addition to current off leash hammock park is best outcome of this.
John was a friend of our daughters in high school. Glad to hear he is still enjoying his favorite sport. John was a very nice young man and now he continues to make Dunedin proud. Karen Miracle
