This article in Rolling Stone published today brought me here, "Inside Sammy Davis Jr.’s Secret Satanic Past". Do a search for it. That's some wild stuff man.
So, now Mr. Davis is the world's greatest entertainer? I've been saying it for years (Albiet limiting it to America). He could make you laugh, make you cry, outdance Barishnikov, out sing Pavarotti, and knew how to tell a story. And anyone who hasn't seen his swansong dance with Gregory Hines needs to be prepared to "get a lump in your throat".
Great singing by Sammy Davis Jr. here. And the lyrics are awesome, esp. "I cannot be right for somebody else, if I"m not right for me." Truer words never spoken about life and dating.
Who is the best. It’s all about opinion. Yes but not in this case. SAMMY DAVIS JR was simply the greatest all round entertainer the world will ever see. He was truly Blessed by God and I feel so lucky to have seen him in the flesh.
What an amazing actor Carroll O`Connor was, he never broke the character. I have the entire series on my PC and I`ve been watching it everyday for 13 plus years. It`s amazing how O`Connor never broke the character. Another priceless moment is when Beverly LaSalle (A female impersonator whose life Archie saved by giving him mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, because Archie thought he was a woman) took off his wig...The Look on Archie`s face is priceless. All In The Family is undoubtedly the greatest sitcom of all time.
I want to give kudos to whoever posted this. Thank you!! I have a sense of what went into recording, preserving to the level of being able to post this footage. It's nostalgic for my generation, and also important for these kids today to see and hear the sound of great talent. These guys blended their voices together perfectly - live on stage. This was real and so awesome! I was 22 in 1979 and I probably watched this live. At 22, I was focused on splitting my time going to discos and bars to hear rock bands. Seeing this now, all this amazing, great music that never even got nominated, makes me wonder who the heck is voting and diminishes the prestige of an Oscar, to me. Not important, just an observation. Thanks again for posting this. <3
