We have become accustomed to the idea that modern striker fired pistols can’t “just go off”. This is because most modern striker-fired pistols have a comprehensive and redundant safety system that prevents ignition should a failure in the primary sear system cause release of the striker without the trigger being pulled. The Sig P365 system is not comprehensive or fully redundant. I won’t carry it.
I bought the holster and it's pretty great, but i would really love a can't adjustment. The optional loops for carrying owb are virtually useless and shouldn't be an option
I have a question forgive me for commenting on a old post but is it drop safe while loaded ? I have kids and keep it in my gun bag now they don’t touch or go near it but the off set chance it falls of shelf or gets knocked down will it go off while chambered I always carry loaded and chambered but it makes me a tad nervous
Just to be clear, the striker or the safety that holds it back could break, and either of those 2 failures alone, would cause the cartridge to fire. All it takes is a bad heat treat and a few years of hot and cold stress (sitting In truck during summer and winter) along with the stress of firing the gun to potentially break one of those components, and the gun will go bang. This is a fundamentally flawed design, and I can't take anyone seriously that believes this is an acceptable way to manufacture a handgun that is marketed as a 365 day a year carry gun. Never seen such mental gymnastics that people are coming up with to justify purely negligent, fundamentally flawed design.
Damaging the spring would make it harder, not easier to hit the primer. Worst case would be to remove the spring altogether. In fact, that spring isn't even in the striker on most pos 365s. This dude is a complete clown.
As a fellow Hoosier, I’m glad I found your channel! You provide a great data driven analysis and seem like an honorable and just man. May God continue to bless you, your family and community.
I dont like how they staked the extractor pin. I didn't know that, and having to send my slide off to CZ to be repaired if the extractor ever broke or any other issues with it.
What if the entire sear assembly/structure that protrudes from the main striker cylinder (the section that includes the sear *and* that safety ledge) breaks off? One break where one piece of metal meets another piece of metal at 90 degrees, and the firing pin cylinder is free to move forward. This is unlikely of course, but if there’s an abnormally brittle batch of metal… In Glocks (and I’m not a fanboy, I *want* to like the P365), the sear is attached to the firing pin assembly in a different place from the drop safety… so there’s no location where a single broken piece of metal can remove all safeties. The drop safety is towards the front of the firing pin assembly on the Glock, while the sear is at the rear. Also, the Glock firing pin spring is only halfway compressed when there is a round chambered. The Sig firing pin spring is fully compressed… so even a complete failure of two completely independent pieces of metal on the Glock is less likely to cause a round to go off. Please convince me my concern is unwarranted… I want to like the P-365!!
Does this striker assembly apply to all P365s? I have the P365X Macro TACOPS that I carry.. I'm assuming it's the same but just wondering. Great video though and subbed.
i dont own a clamp that would hold my M&P true enough for me to call reliable, so I was doing it like this feeling dumb, so I looked up how to do it and am glad to see i was doing it right🤣👍🏼
so the real threat is some demon absconding with our pistol in the middle of the night , taking an angle grinder to the striker and stealthily replacing the amputated firearm in our drawer before daybreak.😮
Just get the 365 with a manual safety. Never any problems. Your thumb can drop the safety for action in a second on any side.. Yet you can be certain the safety will make the weapon safe while it is on.
The way you describe MIM parts isn’t 100% correct. They are mostly to save cost. Billet milled part is always supperior to MIM. Sure you can make thin intricate parts cheaper but they are actually more brittle and about 30% weaker than billet milled ones.
Everything was solid until you called the magazine a "clip". There are numerous articles defining the difference between magazine and clip and so many people confuse the two. It's not the same. A clip holds rounds together to feed into a magazine. A magazine holds the ammo and gets inserted into the weapon. I'm not condemning you for the mistake, just trying to help reinforce the difference so gun owners know better.
I still don't trust it.. should have at least given it a tigger safety.... i like Springfield xd series with that and grip safety and loaded chamber indicator
