The country lane area represents the area in Alpha 1. In one of the nightmares you could see the neighbour enter his basement but then a car crashes and a wheel goes to the neighbours living room and finished the nightmare. It seems the neighbour can time travel to before the player arrived and kill him by using a lamp post

Tips: When you hide in the Old Living Room during Night 3, Wario and Waluigi will be active.
