Cozy homemaker crafting a slow and gentle lifestyle.
Hello my dear friends!
My name is Emily. I am an introverted homebody and I love to talk about knitting, sewing, crocheting, books, tea, and all those sorts of creative homemaker lifestyle things. I've been knitting for over 15 years, sewing for more than 10, and reading for longer than I can remember! 😁 I live in Kentucky in the USA with my amazing husband Micah, we welcomed our first baby in August 2022 and are expecting our second in August 2024! ❤️❤️
If you have any questions or just want to chat, send me an email at woldenburnmakes@gmail.com.
Hi Debbie! It isn't a one skein shawl, the main body of it uses just under two skeins and the border uses a contrast color. But it could easily be modified to be smaller and use less yarn! I'm already thinking about making a smaller scrappy version. And it is called the Serein Scarf. The test knit ends today so I imagine the pattern should be out shortly!
Hi Emily! I watched your previous video and didn’t comment so I’m combining my comments 😂 Congratulations on the new baby! So glad he arrived healthy and glad to hear you’re recovering well. I’m just finishing up my Tolsta tank, the best version. It’s my first bottom up knit and I’m not a fan, I has 2 skeins of yarn and worried I’d run out. I won’t have much left that’s for sure! I’m currently reading All Creatures Great and Small for the book club. I’ve never read it before and it’s a fun read!
Thank you so much, Elizabeth! I'm really looking forward to seeing your finished Tolsta tank! I do think it is a pattern I'd like to try again in the future, but right now I don't have the brain space for it. The not knowing how much yarn to estimate is definitely a downside to bottom-up! I hope you win yarn chicken!!! I haven't read All Creatures Great and Small yet either, but I've heard really great things about it.. I actually need to start reading it ASAP before all the discussion starts happening 🤭
@@Woldenburn you’re so welcome! I did win yarn chicken! I had 9g left over 😂 it is a great pattern. I also have the Tolsta Tee pattern which I think will be one of my next projects! I’ve been listening to the book, it’s very entertaining! You have time!
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! ❤️ I'm definitely finding it easier to film in little snippets rather than full length podcasts. However, I am rapidly amassing quite the backlog of projects that I need to share 😳 There is going to be a BUMPER of an episode at some point!!
Congratulations! Your baby boy is so precious!! What a special blessing! So glad that your mom and sister were there to help, I'm sure you will treasure the memories of this season of life. God bless you and your family!
Thank you for sharing your knits and a glimpse into the arrival of your sweet new baby boy. It made me smile hearing how your mom and sister were there to spend time with you and support you before and after your son's birth. That is such a beautiful example of family love! I hope your transition caring for your 2 sons is going well! ❤
Dear Emily, Congratulations on the arrival of your second beautiful and sweet little baby boy. I am so glad that everything went well in the end and that you and your children are healthy. I wish you a speedy recovery and all the best for all the adjustments in your family life of four people. Love Christina from Austria
So happy to see you, Emily! Congratulations again and hope you love these early cozy days with your new baby and his big brother ❤ It was so sweet to see them, and also all the making you were able to do! I’m trying to think of a book series for you-if anything comes to mind I’ll message you! 😊
What a wonderful episode, Emily! Very thankful your sweet newest boy arrived safely. Loved seeing the photos of the boys together. Looking forward to seeing all of you the next time you come to TWN. Take good care of yourself---- 💚
Love your pumpkin! So glad your mom & sis are there. Love your projects! Your baby is beautiful!! Congrtulations!!❤❤❤ and your Dad too! That new yarn is gorgeous!!
Hi Emily, we’ve had a crazy, crazy summer but things are finally calming down a bit and I’m making time to get caught up on podcasts that I missed. I love all of your sweaters!!
I just knit a pair of baby socks and have spontaneously cast on the baby league onesie! Blessings for your family as you prepare to welcome another little one ❤
Your beret turned out so good! That's too bad that the initial pattern info wasn't super clear about the mohair. I feel like there should be flashing lights or something ✨️this pattern is for yarn held double✨️. 😅 Holly really sets high standards - she's amazing 😊 So excited for you and baby #2!! Looking forward to more vlogs ❤
Your tolstas are gorgeous! I’m also going to start a tolsta vest but I’m waiting until after shark week….maybe 😂 For shark week I’m doing the workday scarf, it’s a free pattern on raverly. I’m using Chicken Lady’s shark dressed man!
Thank you, Elizabeth!! The Shark Dressed Man colorway is really beautiful! I'm hoping to someday get my hands on some of CLFA yarn because she has some gorgeous colors. 😍 I just looked up the workday scarf and it is beautiful!! It's going to look amazing in that yarn.
Emily, All of your little knitted sweaters are so precious!! I especially love the Micah sweater, the cabling is such a nice touch. The little vest is adorable!! I can just imagine how sweet they will look in their matching sweaters! : )
Great Vlog! I’ve been working on organizing my stash as well. I feel so much better when things are neat and tidy. Thanks for sharing I hope you have a great week!☺️
