To thee wondering about the timer Its either 1. Just a way to stop people from hogging the demo 2. The game would have a time limit similar to dead rising or pikmin where you would only have a certain amount of time to save mario before Mario would be lost forever
The biggest problem with B&W was that greats concept in first game was not polished and expanded enough to keep players play. In other hand in second installment great ideas was scraped or changed in to more modern RTS approach… What a shame 😢
A very underrated PC game. Pixel and Chisel are hoth very underrated characters. They are my favorite characters and I really enjoy the cutscenes that they are in
I remember reading a review of this game from back when it came out, they were saying the object of the game was basically to get as far as you could before it crashed. As far as I know, the game's since been patched and is actually stable now though.
Le truc qui est dommage c'est qu'à l'époque le level editor pour ce jeu n'est pas sorti, je me rappelle que le developpeur avait dit durant l'annonce qu'il y aurait des missions supplémentaires, hélas c'est pas le cas
Great video about Der Clou! 2, almost exclusive. I would really like such a tool now, so that I could edit the game world of this old, but unique game. In the .EXE file of the game, using Game Extractor and Restorator, I found the editor interface on the game engine, in the form of pictures. There are many options, such as exporting and importing 3D models, textures, editing character scripts and characteristics of objects such as tools, and their location on the map. But all this is only in the form of interface windows, and I don’t know if these are just “remnants” that were not removed by the developers, or if there is a real editor hidden in the startup file, which is activated in a special way. Some of the information in the .EXE is encoded.
Yes, it is simply incredible to see The Sting from the “other side”. It’s amazing how this video hasn’t sunk into history at all) Watching this video, you understand what kind of work was done. It’s just a pity that the developer’s editor was not made available to the public. It would be possible to create so many new objects for theft, add more characters. World building is somewhat reminiscent of TES 3: Morrowind, and probably the average user could gradually master such a tool if the developers could make it accessible. The game would gradually receive new graphics and improved models, etc. By the way, you can see here that in the early concept of the game the roads were paved with stones, not concrete!
Fantactic!!! I can't believe that saw, how created my favorite game!!! It's a pity, that so many cars didn't used in final version. It's very interesting - the developer's editor is saved with all resources somewhere now? We may be create a fan remaster with new quality and textures, and added new content. Now I only can unpack WLD arhive...😢
And you are here too) The search for the eastern building haunted me that day, and I was looking for at least some clues. I thought about making a link in a comment in the topic about “trailer with deleted object”, but then I realized that only I could see this message, apparently because of the link, and I couldn’t change it. If it’s not difficult, post it as text for a search engine! I think someone might be interested in this.
If I understand correctly, is this the same archive with a specific format that is in the main game file? But if he is unpacked, then what is the next problem?
@@user-ye7ls9rq8b , the files in the folders inside the unpacked archive are also in non-standard formats; they cannot be edited by conventional programs. For example, texture files come in the main TIF format, but they are hidden in PAGE files, and so far I do not know how to extract them. The situation is similar with model files, script files, and so on. They were probably intended exclusively for working in the developer editor - the one we see in this video.
@@user-pu9td1vq2u if you don't mind, can I get and view these unpacked files? Maybe I can do something myself or consult someone. I was suddenly hooked on this topic after so many years, Sting is really quite unique and a mod of at least improved graphics would definitely not hurt. Perhaps we can do something together - why not?🤨
