Loved this interview. I actually messaged her after I listened to ask if she knows of someone who does what she does in my area. She messaged me within minutes and gave me two names in the tri-state area. She seems like a real gem. ❤ I’m in the process of scheduling my first lap-excision surgery and this is a daunting time, knowing I desperately need something done and not even knowing “officially” if I have endo… having resources like this to help in the aftermath and continued care will be massively helpful to my mental health as I hope to conceive after.

26 years of leg pain here too! Have had severely ruptured lumbar discs, but the pain has never really gone away with two laminectomy/discectomy surgeries (I was diagnosed with “failed back surgery syndrome” so I’ve written off my own pain as my body’s failure to respond to surgery… ). I wrote off terrible period, pelvic, hip, flank, ribcage, shoulder and diaphragm pain as the myofascial pain syndrome when my doctors have found nothing “wrong” with my organs, spine and blood work when pain sent me in the ER several times. I thought my chronic widespread pain and back pain made my periods so painful and caused my unexplained infertility. Nancy’s Nook is a sanity saver. Thanks for sharing this story. Awaiting a consult with a nook doctor now. ❤

Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry that you've had to endure so much! Nancy is a wealth of knowledge. Things to also consider that many other doctors know very little to nothing about is, no bulge hernias, nerve entrapment, nerve compression, amongst many other things that often are in combination with endo. There are some episodes with Sallie Sarrel and Dr. Nick Fogelson talking about some of these things. I wish you the best in your journey!

@@endobattery thank you! I will look those up! Just saw my neurosurgeon and see the endo surgeon next week. I also just virtually attended the endo summit and learned about my hyper mobility - a PT mentioned it to me years ago… so much to learn. Much appreciated!

It's 7h long? The podcast was only 1h long. So contraceptives don't do anything? If it's embryonic could abortion medication help? If there are over 100 genes involved, would gene therapy become a possible treatment? How do you make sure that the endo stem cells are removed?

Is there a way to volunteer to take part in a trial on this vagus nerve stimulation to mitigate all-body endometriosis symptoms? (Not well expressed, but I am really interested in this, for sure, as this episode really speaks to me.)

This is so exceptional, so insightful, inspiring, educational, I am HANGING ON every word. This really needs lots of circulation, so women with endometriosis hear it and healthcare providers hear a colleague, somebody like them, speaking about his evolution from training-based errors to incredible humility, wisdom, self-development, skills training, and advocacy for us endometriosis patients. To hear a doctor admit that gaslighting, castration, labelling women as "hysterical" actually DO happen, is pretty amazing. Thank you to you all. THANK YOU.

I can listen to Dr Jose all day. Just hearing him supporting and valuing women is enough. But he and Dr Sinervo just performed complex endo surgery on my beautiful 30 yo daughter two weeks ago and they are heroes in my book! Every mother with daughters needs to understand this disease in order to advocate for their girls with symptoms. I had bad periods with similar symptoms as a young woman so I always thought she ‘just has bad periods’ like I did. We have to learn so we stop dismissing our girls and women! Thankful for this interview!🙏🏼❤️

Proper information is power. Incorrect information is invalidating and destructive. However, we recognize that most of the time people don't know any different and just want to help. Of course there's always those exceptions, but in general it comes from a caring place. Thank you for sharing and watching!

I think it's important to talk to a licensed professional whenever it comes to your health and making sure that the measures that you take to improve your health are specific to you. There are people that would be able to talk to you about this with more knowledge than we have. We also have some guests on that do talk more in depth on this on our actual podcast platforms. Good question! endobattery.buzzsprout.com

also I’ll tell the stranger in the gas station about it if it means it’ll help move us forward. Shit I can so closely relate to that. Everyone is so damn sick of me talking about my endo. My coworkers pretty much roll their eyes when I walk in with my heating pad, everyone already knows to expect pretty much nothing of me at least 1-2 days of the month. Nobody wants to deal with us anymore, I sometimes think my family still believes it’s in my head even after surgery.
