AllOver Overland is Michael Hyden | Podcaster, Photographer, Videographer My drive is to create outdoor magic that inspires people to explore, escape, adventure, and to GO ALL OVER. My recent move to Alaska has put me in a honey hole of places to explore, challenges to face, and endless stories to tell.
I am on a mission to build my Nissan Frontier Pro4X into an overland rig that can survive the harsh winters of Alaska and also soak up the rays of her Midnight Sun. GO ALL OVER!
You all couldn't have picked a prettier time of year to be up here in the alpine tundra. My grandkids were thrilled to be able to participate in your excursion and share their panning skills with you! I hope your crews had just as much fun in our little neck of the Alaska wilderness.
How did the KO3’s handle on wet paved roads? I’d like to get these for my 91 f350. I keep hearing that there are better wet weather tires and living in Oregon has me going back and forth between options. I live in the high desert so plenty of snow driving but when venturing to the coast see plenty of wet driving. K03 or wildpeak at4w?
Hey, Mike! Your videos are some of the first I've seen of the event. Craig mentioned it was coming up when I visited in August. I'm Togo's owner, and I'm currently stationed in Japan, so I dont get to see the truck in actions very often. I enjoyed seeing it in your video! - Connor
@@AllOverOverland to be honest they are fine not a big difference from my Ko2’s in the same size. I’ve put 35,000mi on these tires and they seem to be wearing out faster than my ko2’s ( 63,000mi life ). now note these are the ko3 v2 that was released a few weeks ago.
Hey, Mike, looking forward to some new content. Glad to see related activities to experience. One thing I tell folks about overlanding is it can (and should) be more than just driving, cooking and camping. Holing up every night at some secluded spot denies one the opportunity to experience new places, people, foods, cultures, etc. Local (not chain) restaurants and motels/B&Bs/inns offer some of the best ways to learn about the local places and activities to experience. As is some advanced research with insiders like you.
This is "Epic"? Seriously? I'm thinking about getting into overlanding for views and adventure. I sure hope there is way more to it than this video showed.
Nice pros and cons video. I had a 4Runner that I was going to build out, had to sell it and it’s one of the biggest regrets. I now have a 3rd Gen Tacoma TRD OR Access Cab. The plan is to build out the bed starting with the AluCab topper that can be converted to the Cabin in the future.
It’s great that you aren’t necessarily part of the cookie cutter crowd. Having a format isn’t a bad thing, but you have something different with coming from Oklahoma, and now being in Alaska. It’s good to see the content coming out again, I enjoy seeing what’s new. You have definitely gotten to “Go All Over”. Be safe, sir! Have a great night.
Sugar creek is fun and all but I really hope this isn't the best Oklahoma has to offer as far as overlanding goes. I've done it three times but I don't go slow. I usually finish in about three hours. Nicely done video though.
best overlanding trail in oklahoma is by my property in the poteau mountains. the roads and trails arnt on any map and its around 14-15 miles which takes over 2-4 hours to drive. sugar creek looks like a highway compared to poteau moutain
K Trail East on the east side of the state. Enter at Beech Creek National And Scenic Area going south, drive down to the T and go right. It’s 8 miles west to Three Sticks National Monument. You can obviously run it in reverse also. It’s easier West to East. East to West you climb some shelves at start.
Glad to hear that we downsized our dometic from a 75qt dual zone to a 35qt a couple of years ago. That thing has already taken a beating and still keeps on ticking.
