Late to this, but this is by far the best written, acted, and produced actual play of the Witcher RPG. Some character art/portraits would have been nice but I imagine commissioned art is expensive.
Loving this campaign. Your DM style is awesome! This is my first real experience with the world of the Witcher, so I'm reallg excited. Making me wanna give the games and books a try. For the games I'll prolly wait for the upcoming remakes, but you make this world you're playing in very appealing. Great game and great production value for a smaller channel!
Congrats on finishing your first season! Had a great time listening to it and enjoying the adventures. Looking forward to what you guys cook up for next year! Are you planning on continuing to use the Witcher TTRPG (and same characters?) or are you looking into other systems? Your teasing was slightly ambiguous.
Many thanks, and glad you enjoyed it. We're looking into a different game. Specifically Monster of the Week by Evil Hat Productions. We've enjoyed playing the Witcher, but most of us have been playing this game since 2018 and feel a desire to explore more narrative systems for the podcast.
@@elsewhereandbeyond Definitely looking forward to that. I've heard good things about monster of the week from my time attending an RPG club a few years back but never got to play it.
This show has been a great listen, an absolute blast! Great RP by everyone, a great rich story and huge leaps of production compared to the older podcasts. Thank you for the amazing company for almost 15 hours and more than 4 months now. Great job everyone, looking forward to your next Witcher stories!!!
I just noticed that it is not easy to find you via the search engine. I think that could maybe due to not included keywords such as PnP, TRPG, or the like, in your title and description. At least: the witcher actual play (PnP/TRPG) as search query took me nowhere ;D.
Hope everybody is keeping well. In order to not swamp Leo too much over the weekend, Mondays will be our new release date for the RU-vid release of our show. You can still catch the show a few days earlier over on Spotify, Pandora, Google & Apple Podcasts. Have a great week, and we'll see you all soon. Like, comment & subscribe <3
I'm sure that you are having a GREAT time while playing this fabulous story, but this was by far the episode where the party has shown what getting around the table really is. Not taking yourself TOO serious, having a ploughin' great time and being unable to breath due to laughing. Great, great, great work everyone!!! Thank you for giving us such a great time with these exceptional podcasts!!!
Happy Saturday everybody. Things will be visually back to normal with the videos for Ep.15 and onward, we hope you enjoy todays antics... this was an absolute blast to record together and then edit, a lot of fun and laughter had by all. Make sure to 'Like' and subscribe to our channel, all of your support means the world to us and until next week, take care.
Another quick reminder that this episode, and the next, have a few less visuals than usual due to Leon working away from home. Sorry for the delay on this one guys. If you prefer, you can also find this show (and all former and future episodes) on Spotify, Apple and Google Podcasts. Enjoy!
This weeks episode has a more stripped-down visual, as will the next two episodes. Leo (our GM and also the editor) is on a trip away and has limited access to tech. The full visual experience will be back on the weekend of Sept 17th. Be sure to 'Like' and subscribe for notifications on all of our latest releases. Enjoy, and have a beautiful weekend.
Still reeling from the odds of being able to fumble that hard, but made for a great resolution to your time in the city. Cool to see some more spotlight on the abilities of the witch profession, even with the fumble making a great problem out of it
We are back! Hope you all had a good week, we sure did! If you're enjoying the show, then give this week's video a thumbs-up and be sure to subscribe for more!
Heya! That's really kind of you to say. For our game, we use Roll20 to play (it's easier to run rolls and numbers), as a GM I make the encounter maps in Inkarnate. The players get to see everything virtually, it's a lot of fun and very easy.
Sadly, due to technical (which lead to time) limitations, we couldn't include the visual battlemap for this weeks combat encounter. We apologise, and we'll be sure to make an extra special one during the next battle/encounter. Enjoy the show, and we'll see you all on the weekend of August 20th for episode 11.
Always pain to see an episode less than an hour! But with your production I know you can't always keep that up. I know this is a more narrative focused real play podcast, but it would be interesting to hear about the character IP progression and choices. Obviously its not that often considering length of episodes but would be good to see how they progress mechanically as well as narratively
I do have plans to upload data of their sheets to a page on our website. It's a good idea, and something we absolutely want to do. This game has a (realistically) long future ahead of us. So, whilst I want to do all these things right away, it's a little slower to progress as we focus on our promise to deliver a new episode each weekend. Rest assured that it's coming, and that we do agree with you! :D
@@elsewhereandbeyond Thanks for your response and good to hear! I look forward to any further game systems or help that you guys come up with for your website too after you plugged in your tavern games system last week to good effect
Great work, as always! I'm thrilled with the story, the RP (Gorm ROCKS) and the production of the podcast. But in this session, by Melitele, each time Leon says "row boat" I cannot un-listen to the word ROBOT. 🤣🤣🤣
Another fun episode. Good to see the social and investigation type elements play out. The 20m jump has me wondering if the 'good' doctor was cursed! Quick question for the GM, were you running the investigation using the rules from A witchers journal? Or was it another system you've thought of yourself?
It's a system of our own design. In short, I start with a pretty impossible DC (usually around 30) and have a series of clues, leads or hints in front of me. When the party deduce elements themselves or discover them, I lower the DC by 2, 3 or 5. They are free to work a mystery out themselves, of course, but if they really need a strong nudge on the mystery, they may roll a Deduction check and try their luck. We have a 'Quick Investigations' homebrew handout on the horizon, that will explain it in further detail. Glad you enjoyed the show.
Fantastic again. A hidden gem that will blow up if you keep pressing forward with this quality. I wonder if you might decide to animate some dice rolls (or perhaps quickly crawling/fading text by the player’s name/icon with the total result) in to the video when relevant.
I can't be the only person slightly worried at how gleefully the GM is describing all the victims of the cart 😂 Another great episode, looking forward to what happens next
About half way through and really enjoying it so far. Great production and sound for the most part. I'm curious to know how much if the sound effects, music and things like echo for the jail were done in post and if any were live? Maybe I'm not far enough yet, but are any if the characters using home-brewed classes/jobs by yourselves or is it mostly official stuff? Either way, looking forward to following this as the weeks go on
Heya, two of the characters (Oda & Gorm) are using our homebrew classes, specifically 'The Witch' and 'The Mercenary' - www.elsewhereandbeyond.com/homebrews All of the sound work was applied in post-production. The game is recorded on everybody's own computers, and then sent to me for editing later :) Thanks for your feedback. We find all of it super useful.
