That's basically all I look for in videos. Is for the creator to enjoy playing the game on their island. I've watched heavily decorated, basically no decorations, amd alot in-between that. Some go flat and build something themselves (I can't do that I freeze and stop playing), some don't terraform a single bit (only pathing). So I am enjoying your videos. Teramraform or don't, as long as you like it. I look up villagers on nookpedia and look for ideas to give them. Although now I give them anything and sometimes it gets real weird.
I couldn't watch videos this last week so I am watching your videos back and I agree with most of what you are saying. The reason why I still play daily is because I don't decorate to the gills. I don't love watching decorating videos. Mostly enjoy let's plays Some villager hunts. The exception is 30 day challenges. Love those too. I've played all of the AC games and this is still my favourite one.
Even though it’s not my favorite fruit, I enjoy having apples as my native fruit. This is exclusively because the starter lazy house has the juicy Apple TV in it. It’s so cute!
I'm enjoying your videos so far. Some advice about the first 3 plots. I've discovered the best way to hunt for them is to do all the furniture for the 3 plots then place only the exterior furniture (you can also place only the interior one I just think the exterior one is easier). Then you hunt. You should find all the 3 personality types still. Once you find a villager you want, invite them to your island and before the next ticket put all the inside furniture in their respective plot (depends if you found a good lazy (plot 1), peppy (plot 2) or normal (plot 3). After this I try to confirm we have I have the sold sign for the right villager before I keep hunting. Then you repeat the process. I usually hunt for all of them in the same day but I think you can try to keep the plots empty for longer if you do this. But don't quote me on it I never actually tried. I think you should get Cally as long as you place her furniture. She is cute 🥰
Agnes is such a cutie. She has been my starter twice now and I really like her but she never fit the theme. I really want to have her on one of my future islands 🏝️ she is always so nice to me. Boone is the best gorilla in my opinion so I'd say you had pretty good luck with the starters 😊

You have no idea how much inspiration you gave me with your unique style, even if modded, it really boosted my imagination, I really thank you for that. I stopped playing CS1 because CS2 released and I figured no one would be interested anymore. Then CS2 became a bit of a scheißen show but it still seemed viewers were more interested in it over CS1. To answer your question, though... I am thinking more about CS1 and will likely spend the summer months playing on a new map as I've received a few more of their DLC. Again, THANK YOU for the kind and encouraging remarks about my work. Sure hope I continue to live up to your expectations 😅

When I played new leaf as a kid. I would love to go to tortimer island with other people, and completely flatten and dig up the entire island. We would add a shit ton of holes and leave, good times
I decided to do no terraforming on my latest island cause I get overwhelmed if I flatten and can't figure out where anything should go. Cause then there's also the added decisions of how the terraforming is going to look around buildings and how it's all going to connect to other areas again. And I used that happy island designer app for first time to plan where to put all my buildings and houses and what not, which I feel like has made it easier for me cause now I know exactly where I want to put everything and don't have to think about it anymore and no one will have to live on the beach for eternity while I try to figure it out haha 😆
lol 😆 Knowing what to do BEFORE flattening is a great idea, and the app to help with that is wonderful. I spend hours/days going over it in my head and then just go for it!
It seems like most of your traffic is trying to turn left in order to leave your city. So I would suggest to add one more intersection off your interstate (probably close to the middle of your city) , and the road that goes horizontally across the top of the screen at 10:20 looks like it would do a good job of holding the traffic load. That should take away a lot of the traffic at the roundabout as well, but if you still have issues there I would resort back to the one way road, and maybe extend it a couple blocks into your city; maybe even extend it up until the next major (busy) road. The timed traffic lights you put in at 12:11 should definitely work out, but you may need to increase the time of the phases. It’s pretty simple to do, but looks really complicated. All you do is (with the timed light panel open) click on the stop button, then you should see buttons that say ‘edit’ and ‘view’ on the right side of the menu beside each phase, you want to click on each ‘edit’ button and change the numbers in the two boxes to something higher. It goes by real world seconds, so if you want a long phase so more traffic can get through the light, then you set the minimum number (on the left) to say 15, and the maximum (the right) to 18. Then you click save, do the same for the next ‘each’ button on the list, then when you’re done with them all, you click the ‘start’ button. Those are the numbers I go with for super busy junctions personally, but you can play with it to get it to work in your particular situation. Some common timings are 5-8,8-12,8-16,10-15,12-16, and 15-18. Hopefully you can get it sorted out! Also, sorry to hear about the crash, but I’m glad everyone is okay! Have a great day!
if you look at your roundabout at 7:03 , I would personally suggest to turn the road on the right side into a one way going into your city. I would say a 3 - 4 lane one way road would work great. You typically want to avoid having intersections so close to where the highway ramps are, as they get congested very easily, but if you switch the one road to a one way it should solve a lot of your issues. :) But your road layout looks pretty good! Remember, just because the info view shows you that a road is red, that doesn’t mean it’s broken. As long as the traffic is flowing, you’re okay. Sometimes red just means busy
Some of the little bumps in your overpasses are because of nodes. If you have the Node Controller mod, you can select nodes and set them to slope or middle instead of flat and it should smooth it out. Network Multitool is great and gets you most of the way there with slopes, but Node Controller is the cherry on top. I like this format for your videos where you show the work being done and not just the result.

Interesting comments on CS2. I do agree they could have pushed CS1 further, but from a development standpoint, I see why they needed to eventually jump ship and start with a new core to the game. There are lots of issues with the new game and you have rightly pointed out many. I do think that the big content creators in the world of Cities Skylines (City Planner Plays, Biffa, etc) have been pretty open with some of the things they think are wrong with the new game and not candy coating everything. I hope with time that some of the negatives that both you and they have pointed out are addressed either as part of the base game or through mods, preferably the former. I don't have the computer to run even CS1, but I play it through GEForce Now, which makes using any mods extra tricky. I have pre-ordered CS2 as it's also supposed to be supported on GEForce Now. We'll see how it works out.
I have GEForce but don't use it (as I'm not sure how it works - LOL). I hope I didn't say anything confusing when I tried to critique the new game as it wasn't my intention. It isn't that the big guys aren't aware or tend to ignore the obvious about CSII, it's that the 'hype' for the new game seems unrealistic (to me alone) due to its' being an unfinished product. I like to wait until all is said and done, all the kinks and gaffs are resolved, and THEN delve into the what's so great and what's so not about it. I'm just as anxious to watch the gameplay when it's released, which I think might give us all a better perspective (at least that's my hope).
