Gear demos! I try to get the most out of any of my gear, and share what I find. Here are the gear explorations I make and the noises I create with them; with my guitar, my effect pedals, my iPad, and whatever else I can get my hands on that makes a noise.
I was checking out some of your other videos. some great tones in there as well. For this hx stomp video what sort of guitar are you using? and is this tone with an IR or is it with the IR bypassed on the hx stomp? I just picked up a hx one. looking forward to trying it out. anyways if you feel like sharing any more specifics about the sound I'm curious to know which amp model and ir is used for this tone. thanks!
Thanks! I mainly use two guitars. One is a Charvel DC-2 (with passive Seymour Duncan humbuckers). The other is a Fender Player Jazzmaster (CME model with Pure Vintage '65 Jazzmaster pickups). On both guitars I mostly use the neck pickup. I mostly use the US Double Vib amp model on the HX Stomp with its default cab. I don’t use external IRs. I record direct from the HX Stomp with no extra plugins, EQ or any kind of post processing. You can see my guitars if you go to my Instagram profile and check out the Guitars story highlight.
Ahhh cool I thought I heard a charvel in there haha. And what do you use to get into the computer? A had Apollo or something like that? I’m in the market for a new converter and your recording have a lot of great detail. Curious as to what is doing the conversion. I know some of the stuff like the pod go will act as its own audio interface, but I don’t think the hx stomp does that?
So if the HX stomp is going into the hx one mono where are the two stereo outputs from the HX one going? back into the HX stomp? Then into the computer via USB?
@@jasonvrabe HX One is in the HX Stomp fx loop. Guitar goes into the HX Stomp and the fx loop is routed inside the Stomp. The fx loop block within the Stomp signal chain is placed between the amp and the cab, similar to how a pedal in the fx loop of an actual amp would be placed.
I´m currently building a board and got two og these! Will be interesting how I´m gonna use this pedal. Only noe per board for now, but maybe I´ll end up with both om the same 🤷🏻♂️😃 Nice vid!
It would be cool if Line 6 released all the delays in one affordable pedal as an Echo Park reissue. Same for reverbs like the Verbzilla. The HX pedals and the DL MKII are pricy and too complex for me. They sound great though!
I was just thinking how HX One is great just as a delay pedal or multi mod pedal etc. I think the price is easy to justify when you consider all the features. It’s actually very easy to use, too.
One thing I find gives nice vintage vibes digitally on guitar, not necessarily lofi, is putting your reverb BEFORE your cab sim in the effect chain in your daw.
@@DoNoise you should definitely check it out. It sounds wonderful both as a mild reverb as well as a noise machine. Less versatile than others, but tons of personality.
I have the Ventris but really like the Lofi on that empress reverb, I have the empress echosystem and apparently you can just interchange it to the reverb with a new sd card, I need to learn how to do that so I can use either or whenever. Would be cool to get a printout cut and laminated to throw on top of it when I switch too lol. Or get someone to 3d print a layer I can put on top. Also have the synesthesia, and have never really gotten many sounds I like out of it, I will need to try and do a reverb like you did on yours! Also I really want that Rainger one since seeing Mg.Kee use the gated reverb on it so well.
The video turned out great! A little bit of dialogue, a little bit of text, and a whole lot of lovely sounds to which I can enjoyably listen. Thank you!
Thanks! There are more I wish I could include but it wasn't possible unfortunately. I've been planning this video for about two years and no matter how many pedals were ready to be filmed there was always "that one more pedal" I wanted to include. At one point I had to stop collecting and just make the video :)
This pack now includes two more presets. You can hear them here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7Rt9mxhG7EY.html Line 6 POD Go presets: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3s13-o4b7f8.html
Late to the party on ultrawave despite being an SA fanboy. Always enjoy and download your neuro presets. That octave foldback is incredible. Gives me dx7 vibes.
Thanks a lot for you videos, it's really nice to see a demo with cool songs and not big rock solos ! Which pedal would you recommend between this boss GT-1000CORE and the Line 6 Hx Stomp (for a dream pop/shoegaze player, for live and studio use with an amp) ? Is one easier than the other for editing your own sounds in your opinion ?
Thanks! I prefer HX Stomp because I feel like it is more versatile. I think both are easy to use. You’ll just need to spend a bit of time to learn it first. It won’t take long though.
Great video! I have 2 questions ~ 1) Where is the feedback trimpot inside the pedal? 2) How do I adjust it to increase oscillation? I’m holding the left footswitch down, and there’s no oscillation…
@@smashedwasp6667 thanks! The guitar is a Charvel DC-2 with Seymour Duncan SH-4 JB and SH-2N. There might be parts with Player Jazzmaster (with PV ‘65 pickups). “Amp” is a clean Fender model on Line 6 HX Stomp, recorded direct.
Very cool device and I'd probably get it if there were more buttons/easier way to see what effect you're using, but man I hate hidden/secondary effects. Definitely sounds great though.
The hidden effects are more like “set and forget” type extras but I understand wanting an easy way to see where things are set. That’s the price to pay with versatility in a small box unfortunately.
@@DoNoise I have the same effect pedal and all the knobs in the video were set to the same value, but the ctrl value didn't change even when I picked harder 😢 I bought this effecter because I wanted this sound.
@@DoNoiseI'm sorry. I'm Japanese and I don't speak English so I overlooked the instructions. I learned that you adjust the knob while pressing the pedal. Thank you. I subscribed to you.
