Derek Poupard is the owner and inventor of 3D HoofCare and HoofCast. After starting his career as a farrier in South Africa, he's since traveled the world having the opportunity to work in the USA, Dubai and United Kingdom on the highest profile horses in the world.

Having spent most of his career ambitiously trying to improve the quality of a horse's hoof, his latest efforts have shown positive results in a very short time frame.

Through the use of incorporating the latest technologies such as 3D printing to create the HoofCare product, as well as developing this product alongside his own HoofCast product, the goal was to emulate the horse hoof in its natural state of being barefoot.

With the use of his products, horses around the world are able to reach their full potential in a way that's never been seen before.

Ok this seems like a better solution than nailing on shoes. Is it expensive?

Somebody needs to address this horses white line disease, long toes and underrun heels.

Why cut the heels? Everyone keeps cutting heels, which only serves to stimulate the front of the hoof to grow forward. No wonder thoroughbreds are so prone to thin hoof walls and lameness issues.

It’s waterproof once it’s cured and we swim horses with it on

@@3dhoofcare127 awesome! I’m consulting with my farrier, I have a mare that is very thin walled and soled and we’re trying to correct her angles but having problems with her being sore when we nail shoes on. I’m wondering if this would be something that could help strengthen her hoof wall, and be something we can nail to or even just build up her heels and not have to put shoes on?

Absolutely that’s the whole purpose of it. The weak walls thicken up over time as well as strength is added back into the foot. It’s been revolutionary for the thin walled racehorse.
