It would be nice if it worked. If even basic testing was done before release. Like I was taught in middle school to validate each entry before moving it into your database.
I have the same issue, and I've been trying to fix it since April, I've tried everything multiple times and nothing. Tomorrow is the last day to submit the FAFSA
@@ant-onio4543 you need to delete what you have and start over adding only one parent, regardless of them having two, you can add the details of the other down the road but initially you only need one. Worked for me when I tried that
Is there any way the subscripts could be EDITED to be correct? Loved the reference to the Felon and Perkins loan, but it's not what the presenter meant, I don't think. (FFEL or Perkins) in this case and that's only ONE example.
Hello, first-time FAFSA form filer here. I am a student and I have a question regarding the contributor (Spouse) in the FAFSA application. I have filled and submitted the FAFSA application as an independent status however my husband didn't receive any email invite to fill in his financial info. I received an email confirmation after an hour of applying, and the confirmation email didn't mention anything about my husband if he needed to file his info. We live together and file our taxes as married jointly. I am confused and I want to know what I should do. Should I wait for the invite or does my husband just use his FSA ID and fill out his info without an email invite?
Thank you for your question. The best way to check is by viewing 2024-25 application form on your StudentAid.gov account dashboard. If there is a yellow marker - click on it and see what is still needed. If it says your spouse, then ensure you are putting in accurate information for your spouse to receive the invitation. However, you shared that you are married and filed jointly, therefore it may not ask for your spouse. The request is typically for those who filed separately.
When the parent gets the invite it just takes you to the child's form not your part, if you try to sign in as a parent it said it was going to delete all the info my child entered already? How do you as a parent sign in without using the email invite link?
Thank you for your question. The very first section of the form, once you accept the invitation will ask for "Student Demographics" this is to ensure you are completing the form for the correct student. After this first section, it goes into "Parent Demographics" and "Parent Financials".
