Hi there, we're Steve and Corinne, The RoVing Moose, the name we've given our fun new Winnebago EKKO RV, is a fun channel created mostly for family, but come along on our journey of fun and exploration. I've been a still photographer my whole life, so learning this video thing, AKA Vlogging, is going to be fun! ha ha The drone is ready, the adventures set (kind of), so lets go.
Looks like a great life😊 Since you guys doing the RV Life I’d like to ask this question ? My wife and I want to do what you’re doing, retire and journey in an RV/Van. Our retirement budget is $150 a day. Would you say $150 day/$4500 a month realistic for rent space/Fuel/Food to live the RV/Van lifestyle …. Thanks
Hey, great question. and my honest answer can only be: this is how we do it, these are the variables, this is what we do... $150 a day can be great, but there are people who spend $300+ per day. So we boondock (stay in free places) 50% of the time, that sure cuts down on costs. We use Harvest Hosts as much as possible ($20-$40 per stay), we use Army Corps of Eng campsites at between $15 and $30 per night, state parks at $10-$50 per night, etc... but, for example, The Florida Keys, they are expensive as heck - $180+ per night. Yes you can get a night or so in one of the state parks down there at $55 a night, but they are hard to get. So, if you can camp for under $50 per night, and grocery shop for your meals - because restaurants will cost the average couple $50-$75 per dinner ($25-$40 for breakfast). And if you add alcohol to a dinner your $150 will be shot real fast. Then gas, how much you drive every day really eats into your budget because you're looking at $80-$140 per fill up and if you're driving 350-400 miles in a day that's $80+ added to your daily costs. Then fun things. Many fun things are free, many are $10 or $20, many are hundreds of dollars, you have to add that in. So yes you can easily do it, there are days we spend $30, there are also days we spend $350. Bottom line, I can't answer for you but you have to determine the amount of free camping nights (in a van/small RV it's much easier to camp for free in most places), cooking at the rig vs expensive restaurants and alcohol, sight seeing, gas (miles driven), etc etc. Last thing I have to say is: LIFE IS SHORT, BUY THE DAM RV AND GO!!!!! ha ha :--))
Completely understand. RU-vid should be along for the ride and not become a burden. Don’t feel you have to share it all. Look forward to the next one and thanks for sharing the adventures. Safe travels.
I’m going to have to say high to Fred and his friend someday. Great fun and adventure. Thanks for sharing. Brinkley has the right idea, time for a nap 😴
Steve, great video!!! We truly enjoyed meeting you, Corrine and Brinkley and camping across from you in Jolly Roger. Keep posting your great videos and hopefully our camping paths may cross again someday.
Now that was fun. Great drone footage. The feeling you had crossing those narrow bridges… I had the same going through the tunnel at Zion National Park. Wow…. Thanks for sharing the adventure.
Thanks, yeah I’ve never been good with high bridges… then you throw in rust and the age of those things and I’d rather swim across! Ha ha I’ve been thru that tunnel and can agree. We have some tunnels coming up later this summer, stay tuned. ;-))
Great adventure. Wow! What a truckstop. Did I see a little bit of artwork envy for the side of the EKKO. Naaa, yours looks great. Thanks for sharing The Journey.
That is so cool. Well done on the graphics my friend. Plus, you are really good at your production of the videos and the great on camera. Like you've done this before. Can't wait to brag to the other agents about how cool my client is!
