Can you do this style on blow-dryed hair vs completely silk pressed hair?

Tfs! I was looking for a tutorial without murrays pomade or any wax/balm because it’s so hard to wash out. I can’t wait to try this! It’s a perfect hot weather style because I don’t plan on wearing any closures, wigs or sew ins this summer.
