I have been a photographer, both working and hobbyist for many years and now I have finally bought my first drone, a DJI mini 3 pro. This will be where I share anything that I don't think is complete garbage, so new content may not be too frequent!
Nice video, and glad I watched before planning a trip about the geo. As I am planning a trip soon and wondered about Toal but certainly hadn't seen anything about the geo being an issue until I saw your vid. Well done and keep up the good work and will no doubt bump into you at some point as you are just down the road from me.
Great video, of some places I know well. "The Boat House" Lion creek is my go test area for my drone. South Fambridge is another. Unfortunately I can't fly in many of the areas you covered as I have to stay close to either my car or my scooter as I can't walk very far. You have done a far better job of editing than I would have done.
Thank you. Some of the footpath is in a very poor state, overgrown and pavers close to 45 degree so some of it even I found difficult to navigate so I can imagine how difficult it can be for you. Trouble is when footpaths go unused they fall into disrepair and that only makes them even more inaccessible to people with mobility difficulties.
Thank you Terry, glad you like it. While I am no expert, if I can offer any help just ask. Though coming from a photography background already I am sure you will already have a good eye and can focus just on the technical side of flying a drone.
Noticing your location after it went clear you must live very close to me. I must admit I have never looked at the DJI maps. I often fly within Southends FRZ so when I get authorisation from ATC I get the DJI geo unlock. But I have never thought of the scenario you encountered at Tower Bridge. I'll have to think of that in future.
Fortunately I don't think we are missing out on too much inside the Southend FRZ, but on the occasions where I have needed fly here the guys at Southend ATC have been really helpful.
@@eyeintheskyvideo Yeah there isn't much of interest around here. I fly over the new housing being built off the Ashingdon road every couple of months just to see what's going on, mainly a lot of mud. I agree, Southend ATC are very good to deal with.
I would be pretty confident in going back now that I understand the risks in the area much better. Definately unlock HMS President in advance just in case.
Thank you, very kind of you. I have taken a look at your channel too, nice to see something a little different so I have subscribed to yours too. Hope to see more.
Your welcome, always, its nice to learn from others and help too. Thanks alot, this is my new channel as i had a previous channel with all different niches, so ill be sure to be posting more often.@@eyeintheskyvideo
@@eyeintheskyvideo 100% I hope you have carerefresh I went so I could add a new picture to my living decor in my house but I was aware the naval college and hms Belfast it’s really scary especially when having fun one slight coordinate and this happens. I wish you best to not looooose any motivation and keep on flying
@@Skiinye Absolutely. DJI had a new drone to me in 4 days, can't grumble at that! It is a sickening feeling when it happens but has not put me off, already been out with the new drone and plans for this weekend too. Hope you are getting some good flying in.
A very well narrated and explained video of the events, I am sure it will help others. I recall my first narration, so props to you Dave. DJI Authorization Zones are far from accurate, they cause no end of inconvenience (and loss) for very little benefit. On the flip side, their support is first class. I don't use Drone Assist, being a Grey Arrows member, I find their Drone Scene service far superior, offering a lot more data, layers, etc. Plus it's all free if you are a member 👏 Well done on the edit, liked and already subbed.
Yes a big thank you to the members of www.greyarro.ws is unduly missing from the video, particularly in teaching me how download and review flight log data, something which I didn't even get to touch on in this video.
