Please tell us that Tom does not really rub his finger on his upper arm hair every time he pushes all that grit out of every oyster he shucks. Tell us this is not so.
If using the netting, make sure the clam seeds will fit through the mesh, sometimes they are bigger and will need to be placed under the net, not on top, or they will all wash away. Thank you all at Taylor, you are the best!
Hi Arnie, thank you for this tip! Sometimes the clam seed that is sold is larger than the mesh size and it is important to check this before following the instructions as shown in the video. If the seed is larger, put the seed on the ground before the net.

At one of your events, I just skipped shucking them and popped them on the charcoal grill. It smoked them and steamed them in their own juices. The oyster popped right open when it was finished and gave arguably the BEST flavor I've tasted in an oyster (and I've had hundreds if not thousands in the last few years). It's right up there with raw + mignonette. Delicious.
