@@markleyshon5 I'm not doing all that much sourcing at the moment. I started selling on eBay to declutter the house, so much of what I'm selling at the moment is from my personal collection amassed over the last 50 years or so. I have some books bought from cheaper charity shops with 3 or 4 for £1 offers but there's less and less mileage in that since many now charge as much or more than eBay. Anyway, for me it's a hobby not a business and it's not taking over my life.
@@lorrainemcparland6572 Thanks, Lorraine, it's great to have you as a regular watcher. I'm not selling much on eBay at the moment what with holidays and visitors, but I do have something to show in next week's video.
That seems like a good price on the postcards. I used to sell on eBay until 2009 when Meg the Moron decided that driving sellers off the platform was a good business strategy. Amusing to watch them have to then beg them back.
@@anthonyparkinson4517 When I first listed Canticle one had sold for £85, but you have to be realistic sometimes, so quite happy with £58. And yes, Evri has an awful rep going back to when they were Hermes. So far, fingers crossed, no problems. Their tracking information is pretty good, to be fair. So far, anyway. I'll not be using them exclusively.
We get jigsaws in our charity shop we don’t count the pieces , as the chances are they were all there and you make a mistake and miscount and say one short , or you could count and say all there and one is missing , , so we don’t check as most jig saw people are meticulous about looking after their jigsaws ,
@@christinebeames712 That's fair enough, I wouldn't expect otherwise. Occasionally pieces are missing but that's the chance you take. I wasn't that pleased, though, when I bought a jigsaw from a charity shop that had placed their price sticker so as to cover a note saying there was a piece missing (which indeed there was). That strikes me as dishonest.
Yeah, I expected it to be quiet around this time. I've been on holiday and not listing much in April and as I don't do it as a living it's not a huge concern for me. I'd be rubbish as a full time reseller!
Thank you. I love books but I mostly read on my Kindle, now. I've been selling off some of my old books but I have some, many bought in my teens, I'd be reluctant to part with.
Yeah, I've given up on selling jigsaws now after one too many claims of missing pieces when I know for a fact they were there when I packed them up. Not worth the hassle.
Do you think requiring immediate payment could put off people who might want to buy several items and use eBays shopping cart? I am not 100% sure how it works, so I have never selected it, and I've never had any problems with non-payment.
Enjoyed the video! We get lots of stock from our house clearance service and sell online. Also doing videos too! It always nice learning from a range of people. For me bundling low priced books together was a game changer for me! I gave so many away!
Sounds like you are at the professional end of the business unlike me! Yes, I know what you mean about giving so many away, I've had some amazing books that I donated to charity before I retired and found I had the time to sell them instead. Some of them would have been worth reasonable money. I've subscribed to your channel and will have a look at your videos.
