Wow that's a lot of work to do all on your own in 2 weeks and a couple days sick in bed you would put a lot of mechanics to shame back here in Australia they I doubt there would be many that would take that job on in that time frame on their own. Congratulations job well done 👍. Travis Bell from the US ( check VINwiki )would be amazed with your achievement.
That is a huge job even for a team complete let alone one (very talented) person and then throw in a two week deadline. What an amazing job you have done and I hope you keep your ute for many years to come. Cheers, Stuart 🇦🇺
Cool to see our aussie utes being appreciated in other countrys 😁 i still think the vf interior even in 2024 is still really nice great job with the swap to left hand drive!!!!
WOW!! You are very, very talented. Plus you did it all in just a short amount of time. Well done. Are you sure that this was your first time doing a conversion haha!! Enjoy your success Cheers mouse
Well done everything is working and l never new that Dubai does not except right hand drive newer cars the same is for Australia you cannot register a car in Australia that is left hand drove and no wonder it costs around aud $70000 to do the conversion and that is why the Chevrolet Camaro are so much in Australia the Ford Mustangs brought into Australia from the Ford factory in right hand drive and that is why there is a lot of JDM cars in Australia some are under a year old
Yes, did not film me working this time. The challenge was very tight and I dint have a Camera set up with me. I was not sure I wanna to Film or not first, So I only used my Phone to make some quick Videos :-) Next Time I will make a proper youtube Film :-)
Just dawned on me that to move countries would require a lot of planning and time to organising. Packing up etc. you’ve done that and an incredibly difficult conversion. Amazing effort.
Hey you did notice the Pedal and yes, it looks a little off. I do have one now, bought it from a 2016 Chevy SS. Just didn't have enough Time in Switzerland. Still have to Finish a couple of little things.
Sensational result. You might find some door cards with the darker suede trims in Dubai. Ute door is the same as sedan. Should be easy to find a fabrication shop to CNC an adaptor plate and push rod spacer for the MC in Dubai. Love it.
why? What a waste of time. Holden will bleed you dry for rubbish 2nd hand parts that will fail quickly. Surely you could find something better to work on.
smile, yes It looks soooo easy, but the most complicated part is the electrical wiring stuff to come. I did the Conversion in Switzerland but I am based in Dubai.
Soz. I posted about VT-VZ conversion. Either way, we’ve had UAE and Dubai members before on the forum. We can help out a fair bit with technical advice. Also can bump you the factory manual for the VE and VF on there too.
@@SarasGarage That is easy but it’s not easy on RU-vid. Join up the forum I posted and we can bump you the link. I posted your build on there and plenty are interested in it.
@@SarasGarage I have started a thread covering your build. Anyone can view it, no need to join the forum to read the threads there. If you go to “Just Commodores” forum (Google it) and scroll down to VF (2013-2017). Then down to the thread titled VF ute in Switzerland. I have posted the links for the service manual. It’s everything. If it’s not in that, it wasn’t on the car.
Joshes Car Corner is doing this just now. It’s a VZ SS Crewman (dual cab Commodore Ute) Check out his channel. Hoonigan also did it with a VY SS ute. The firewall is designed to be removed from the vehicle. Windscreen comes out and the sealant holding the firewall in is cut to weaken it. There is a lift point designed into it. This is outlined in the factory manual, which I can get you a copy on the Just Commodores forum. You are Dubai, so should have heaps of left hand drive Commodores in wrecking yards. Remove the left hand. Drive firewall and reinstall into the chassis. Use all the local left hand drive parts and you are there. LH drive SS Headlights might be sourced from US GTO’s? You should post this on Just Commodores. We’d all love to see it.
My Ute is the 2014 VF, I cant remove the Firewall like the VZ. The Car is in Switzerland right now and will be Shipped to Dubai after. I got all the Parts from the Chevy SS Sedan in the US. In Dubai, they did sell the "Lumina" left hand drive, thats right, but only up to 2010 or 2011.... Do you have me a link to "just Commodore" ? thanx Sara
Correct me if I'm wrong but wouldn't have been a better proposition to grab a doner Pontiac (or whatever they call the car in the US) and use what you need?
@@LasloSakac-ys6qs yes, the VF Commodore was Sold in the US. this is where I got all the Parts for the Conversion. But the Firewall is not removable, that was only the previous Model, not the VF.
