@@theartofmatyldal Hmm I have two interpretations related to the portrayal of kitsune as guardians and/or tricksters :) The split between day and night could symbolize the nature of this particular kitsune as both a guardian and a trickster. Depending on the circumstances, it can either guide and protect someone, or quite the opposite, lead them astray :) So the split in your piece could represent the duality and balance between these two aspects of their character. My second idea is that your painting shows the scene from someone's point of view. I imagine a traveller in a hurry to reach the nearest town before dusk. When he stumbles upon the kitsune, the fox uses its power to create an illusion that distorts the traveller's perception of the reality. Your painting captures the moment the illusion takes over his mind, as within seconds, day turns into night :) Why would kitsune do it? Maybe it's just petty and wants to pull a prank on a traveller for disturbing it. Or for no reason at all, it's a trickster after all xD Another reason could be that the traveller somehow angered the fox. Maybe its a sacred place the traveller didn't honor? Maybe the stone behind the fox is a tombstone for someone special it lost? The kitsune could be punishing the traveller for interrupting its mourning of a lost one. What do you think about my interpretations? :) 🦊
@Psunabudes Your interpretations are really interesting! 😊 I didn’t think of that, but I love how you've added new perspectives to the piece! I imagined this kitsune as a guardian. If you pay attention to the rock under the tree, it's actually a tombstone, a type often seen in Japanese culture. There's also a torii gate (you can see only a part of it here in foreground) that typically shows the way to sacred places like shrines and monasteries. The ropes spread across the rocks and the tree, known as shimenawa, are used to subdue evil spirits and youkai (demons). I thought the sky and cherry blossoms would represent the passage of time, with the kitsune unable to move on. This scene also has a bit of inspiration from the Kung Fu Panda movie, where Master Oogway has his last conversation-it adds a sense of mystique. I felt it suited the scene, bringing out something mysterious and otherworldly. But that's just my interpretation. An illustration gains its life and meaning through the eyes of those who view it. Without viewers taking the time to reflect on it, the piece wouldn’t have a story to tell. So, thank you for sharing your interpretations and thoughts! 😊🦊
@@theartofmatyldal Thanks, I'm glad you liked it :) I did notice the Torii gate, that's where the idea of a sacred place came from. That plus the scenery gives off an impression of a sacred grove. It's funny that I thought this stone looks like a tombstone and now you're telling me "Actually that's how typical Japanese tombstones look like" (pushes up the glasses xD) I never heard of shimenawa, so I completely missed that reference. That plus other things you mentioned fit really well with the kitsune as a guardian of this place. I really like your idea for this painting and its interpretation! It's very cohesive and full of little details that together tell an amazing story. Now that you mentioned Kung Fu Panda, I can see the reference. Nice touch! I agree with your sentiment at the end. Now your piece has one story more to tell :) No worries, I enjoy interpreting your art and I'm glad you enjoy them :)
@@Psunabudes Thanks! Interpretations with diffrent people makes one to see from different perspectives what opens mind which is always intresting!!! :) Thank you again!
This is a very good piece of an Scottish mythology water horse it would fool peoples to ride on their back and run then jump into water which drown riders beautiful a deadly trap love the art work
Thank you! If you're interested in Kelpies, I drew another one about a year ago-here's the link: < ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tG9dyvbvLBE.html >. I also read that in some parts of western Germany, northern France, Holland, and Belgium, they have similar mythical horses like the Kelpie! 😊😀

First of all, thank you so much for your support! I'm really glad you enjoy my videos! 🥰 Right now, I only have my RU-vid channel, but I hope to start an Instagram and Patreon in the near future. Stay tuned!
According to legend: it's some abandoned basement, where this creature start to live in. It made people and animals turns into stone. Really intresting part of this legend was, how main character overcome this problem and defeat this creature! ;) :D
Amazing piece, I hope you'll paint more creatures from Slavic folklore! According to the legends, the Polish mountains Bieszczady were named after Bies, who ruled there. Is this one also a ruler? Also, it definitely doesn't skip the leg day ;)
@@Butterscotch_Kit1919 Whoa nice! I'm using special pen so the Ipad can know how much pressure I'm want (thick lines and all)! :) Without it, it wouldn't look so nice! :D
You did a very nice job on making the background and everything look so realistic with all the different textures of the moon and the dragon! And you did a great job at the lighting. Nice work!
Wow, everything here is absolutely stunning. The sky, the moon, and of course the dragoness. The little 'antennas' on her make her look even more magical, they look very fairy-like.
Hi Chaotic, long time no write! 😊 It’s really nice to see you here. Do you really think I'm improving? That’s wonderful to hear! 😄 Thanks for your encouragement! 😊😊
@@theartofmatyldal No problem! Also you really did improve a lot, your first speedpaint for example (1 yr ago) compared to now. Both are very stunning however you can see a huge improvement now!
@@ChaoticSiIence That's really nice of you to notice! 😊 For me, it's sometimes hard to see my own improvement, but hearing it from you means a lot. Thank you! ☺
Are you asking the big or small dragon? 😊 They both have some interesting stories to tell! By the way, I'm not sure if you saw it, but this is a continuation of the story from another speedpaint titled "Finding Hero. 😊😊😊
